  • I saw a guy with one, today. I was using rune scimitar and we were attacking at what appeared to be the same speed. Anyone care to confirm? Wehttam.bassist 04:20, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

Yea I tested it with my friend with an a scim. Its about the same speed.

Practicality?[edit source]

A note in the trivia section claims that the rapier is not practical for use. There's really no basis to this if the player getting the rapier is either a PvPer or happens to have the tokens and/or money to spend and likes to train on monsters weaker to stab. I'm removing the note until a better case can be made that the rapier isn't practical to use. Vardarac 06:16, March 8, 2011 (UTC)

Lasting for 25 hours of combat[edit source]

According to the forum tread at 149-150-346-62504418, the gravite rapier lasts 25 hours and only requires 6.5k tokens to fully repair. Apperently it was tested by equipping a rune berserker shield and a gravite rapier and when the berserker shield degraded 20%, the rapier degraded 4%. Anyone care to verify/disprove this?

For those guys who keep reverting it back to 10 hours of combat, please go and buy yourself a gravite rapier and test it out. And also start doing a little bit of surfing on the Runescape forums before being a troll.Fizzyliquid 03:49, April 29, 2011 (UTC)

The gravite rapier is special compared to it's other gravite counterparts, especially the ever popular g2h. While it is true for the g2h to degrade after 10 hours of combat, the gravite rapier lasts for 25 hours of combat in a 1v1 situation. In a multicombat situation, it may last between 10-25 hours. However, in normal 1v1 situations, in which it's main purpose is for in f2p (training), it lasts for 25 hours. Fizzyliquid 03:56, April 29, 2011 (UTC)

Got a rapier. It doesn't last 25 hours. Nuff said. If chaotic rapier degrades at the same rate as the maul, how is this different from the grav 2h? Please show me some proof, rather than a forum post (no proof either).  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

Kindly sign your name after the comment. A gravite rapier is not a chaotic rapier. While a chaotic rapier does degrade after 10 hours, it is not true for a gravite rapier. Tested this with way different results, 24 minutes of combat and 1% charge was lost. Goes out to last 40 hours, however whether or not you block a miss or not could have an affect of this, seeing as I was using a very weak creature to do this with, and most of their hits were blocked. A second factor that could have affected my testing was that I did not retaliate back. Walrus068 20:39, April 29, 2011 (UTC)

I did further testing of the rapier. I obtained 1% degrade over 10 minutes, which means slightly over 15 hours of combat time. This is starting from a fresh percentage drop to another. This was continual combat at the flesh crawlers. 2-12-2012

Many f2p players buy the rapier as a replacement to the rune scimitar for training. In a multicombat situation, the rapier may degrade faster. However, in a 1v1 situation, where the rapier is commonly used for, the rapier is able to last up to 25 hours of combat before degrading due to a possible glitch. Therefore, with an hourly cost of 4k coins and 260 tokens per hour for maintainence of the rapier, it may well be an excellent replacement for the rune scimitar for those willing to save up for it."

I've moved this part into the talk page because of the errors in the text, as well as information without any supporting tests or references. Is there any proof that the Gravite Rapier degrades faster in multicombat? Also, is there any proof that the Gravite 2h degrades at a different rate than the Rapier? 17:33, May 19, 2011 (UTC)

It says the rapier is able to last 25 hours. This confirms the fact it lasts longer than the 2h. I tagged the other part with {{Fact}} so it has to be checked. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 18:51, May 19, 2011 (UTC)
Has any of this information been tested by multiple people, recorded (with video) or confirmed by Jagex in any way, shape, or form? If not, I'm removing the information about 25 hours. Minimum level is 64[edit source]

Here's why: My dungeoneering experience is 4,791,008 My total tokens collected so far is 444,355

Because of tokens being XP/10 rounded down, I only get on average 9.27% as many tokens as XP points. To get 40k tokens, then, I'd need 431,278 XP, which is level 64.--Big Bouffant 01:56, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

Forgot the 21720 points I spent on ring of kinship. Total xp comes out to 411,179, which is still level 64.--Big Bouffant 22:35, April 27, 2012 (UTC)
