Factual accuracy of Ehsan[edit source]

As the name Ehsan was bruteforced way before any clues were found and followed, there has not found to be any clear connection between Jagex and the chat bot that is stated on the Golden Path Challenge page. While the bot may seem legitimate, I'd rather have a clear source or a link that can be established between something official (like the RuneScape Forums, website, Twitter, previous clue, etc) to the bot in order to prove that it is accurate and indeed the correct way to find this name. jayden 13:20, May 22, 2017 (UTC)

Mod JD confirmed that the bot is legitimate through a Reddit PM to me. As a result, I've removed the accuracy template. jayden 16:30, May 30, 2017 (UTC)

An Examination of the Forums[edit source]

I have created an account specifically to share some information and thoughts I have concerning the Ehsan mystery. Please feel free to format or edit this. I hope that eventually we may know the true path from the hint about looking in the forums to the discovery of the chatbot and then the name of Ehsan without the use of guesswork.

We are instructed by Vizier in the forums to "look behind." Perhaps from this clue, a series of forum posts from the past (looking behind) can be found edited by the Vizier much like the well-known entry at: Menaphos Trailer, Site & DXP Quick find code: 16-17-108-65905001

I have found a number of RuneScape forum postings edited by Vizier E, and I will present them chronologically from oldest to most recent as well as some of my thoughts on each which may or may not be pertinent.

11-May-2017 16:51:42 Weekly Ninja Teasers Quick find code: 373-374-357-65649318 In Mod Manti's post, there is this line: "Comparison against 'the Defeater' was requested as well. :) Five." The possible clue here is the reference to "five," which appears to have been edited in by Vizier E.

11-May-2017 16:52:27 Ozan's Tale - The Rising Sun Quick find code: 294-295-82-64006719 In Mod Rowley's post, he mentions a new addition to the Lores and Histories section. Directly after this sentence, there is Arabic language which seems to translate to "a look" or perhaps just "look." The link to the story from this post did not work for me. However, I found a link to the story here on the official RuneScape site: The Rising Sun - Ozan's Tale I believe there may be a clue in the first sentence, unless it is simply a typo: "This fanciful tale was first transcribed in the Falador Tribune, by a journalist purported two [emphasis added] have heard the famous rogue Ozan spinning an exotic yarn in the Rising Sun tavern." Similar to the previous posting's reference to the number five, we may have a reference here to the number two. There is evidence against this being a typo rather than a clue: Look here Here it is written, "This text is copied verbatim from the RuneScape website." Also, the word "to" rather than "two" is found here, purported to be verbatim from the RuneScape website. Therefore, one may conclude from this that the original text was subsequently edited to "two" perhaps by Vizier E.

Curiously, at the end of Mod Rowley's post, it appears that his signature has been edited. The edited version reads "Mod Srowley" with the addition of a letter S. It is highly doubtful this is a typo. Perhaps S is another clue.

12-May-2017 11:31:10 Where's the 50% extra keys Quick find code: 366-367-788-65818822 Mod Sayln's post is edited. I can find no edits here other than the mod's signature being changed with the lowercase letter l replaced with a numeral 1 (one). Again, another clue perhaps?

12-May-2017 11:33:16 Count to 100 before a JMod Quick find code: 55-56-393-65618393 "We're baccckkk with your ~Darkness for three days~!" I believe "three" has been edited in here. It appears we have yet another number as a clue.

15-May-2017 09:15:15 Would you go to Menaphos? Quick find code: 16-17-33-65594509 The Arabic script at the end of the post here seems to translate to, "The sons of Horus are your answer." There are four sons of Horus. One possibility is that this is a clue to the number of 4.

16-May-2017 14:59:22 Menaphos Trailer, Site & DXP Quick find code: 16-17-108-65905001 Finally, we arrive at the last of the edited forum pages I know of. "The Seven RuneScape Team -Final of 9" Is "seven" another number clue? What about "final of 9?" Is the final clue number 9 (for whatever all these numbers may be referencing), or does this perhaps instead mean there are 9 edited forum posts to find with this post being the last of the 9 chronologically? If the latter is the case, there would be three more posts yet to discover.

In summary: 5, S (as well as "a look" to find "two" in the Lore section), 1, three, "The sons of Horus are your answer" (4?), seven ("final of 9")

It is unclear to me how we may get from these clues to a chatbot. Thanks for reading. WaldoWuzHere (talk) 02:05, May 31, 2017 (UTC)

Good finds, but Srowley is actually a variation on Mod Rowley's mod name, he's known as both. Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 07:24, May 31, 2017 (UTC)

Interviewing Grand Vizier E[edit source]

The Rebot chatbot has some interesting responses which may help to bridge the gap between the clue to look in the forums and the actual discovery of the chatbot.

I note that the chatbot can be shared on Facebook, Twitter or Google+ via three links at the bottom of the chat page. One possibility is that the forum clues somehow lead to a Facebook or other page with the chatbot link.

Here are some questions and answers I found to be interesting (especially the bit about a clue):

Twitter

Grand Vizier E: No clues there!

Facebook

Grand Vizier E: no clues there!

Google

Grand Vizier E: no clues there!

[Perhaps then the link is not on any of those sites?]

(Ask something the bot doesn't have the answer to.)

Grand Vizier E: I like games.

Let's play a game

Grand Vizier E: Okay. I'm thinking of a number between 1-100. Can you guess what it is?

1

Grand Vizier E: Nope.

100

Grand Vizier E: Top of the shop! But bottom of my thoughts. Try again.

101

Grand Vizier E: Between 1 and 100, you fool.

Bitch

Grand Vizier E: That's not very nice. You wouldn't want me to be telling the Pharaoh what you've just called me, would you?

I'm sorry

Grand Vizier E: no problem

66

Grand Vizier E: Any number, and you chose that one? Nope.

77

Grand Vizier E: Ding ding ding ding! We have a winner. And you win: a clue! How did you get here? Don't dash, remember to dot your I's, and read everything very carefully.

Huh?

Grand Vizier E: Speak up, don't mumble.

What is your name?

Grand Vizier E: You already know

Ehsan

Grand Vizier E: Well, somebody's cheated. But you wouldn't be here unless you wanted a puzzle, so - try to crack it!

forums

Grand Vizier E: You're getting there...

help me

Grand Vizier E: How can I help you?

never mind

Grand Vizier E: Ok

golden path

Grand Vizier E: The Golden Path is a secret only great adventurers can decipher.

meow

Grand Vizier E: >'o'<

cats

Grand Vizier E: Do you like cat videos?

what do you do

Grand Vizier E: I'm the Grand Vizier. Basically, I'm awesome.

bye

Grand Vizier E: good bye

Discontinuation[edit source]

It says:
Golden Path Challenge can no longer be entered.
This competition occurred in the past. This article or section has been retained for historical purposes.

This threw me off, I thought I wouldn't be able to get The Sandy title, because it says "Complete the Golden Path Challenge to unlock the basic magic carpet pet", as a requirement for the title on the Sandy title page. I think this should either be moved down to Prizes or maybe another "template" i think they're called, should be used :3
