Clan Chat Kicking[edit source]

Early today, I was logged onto Excl's clan chat. People started getting randomly kicked off, myself included eventually. No one was kicking, and Excl, who was logged on, tried reseting the clan chat, but this issue continued (I was kicked after he reset it). I don't know if anyone knows anything about this or what they might want to do with it, just thought I might bring it up just in case. -Sept. 6, 2010

"Junior Cadet"[edit source]

Me and some fellow runescapers experienced this glitch today a player named Buzzcap93 had a purple tag that said "Junior Cadet" and when trying to add this person it added another totally different member i have screenshots if anyone wants to see --Angreymob 00:53, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

This isn't a glitch. It is another title that you can get from playing the minigame Mobilizing Armies. Sept. 13, 2011

Today's[edit source]

Should today's glitch be added? Those who logged in know what I'm talking about. The log out one. Never mind.Penguin mask.pngChewy (Talk) 05:45, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Jagex bans people who do any glitch. They have fixed recently the glitch in which you control the ice emote and the dying on the ramp of the blast furnace. However though... have you ever thought of how many innocent players are banned for glitches? high lvls who waste years on their accounts to be banned for a simple glitch. People made fun of the dungeoneering glitch, not knowing how strict jagex is about this. Jagex knows who does glitches so why not just do a "rollback" like in dungeoneering? why ban them if they play fairly and dont use bots? there is a different from a "glitch" and "hacker/bug" glitch is developer error and players should not be banned for that reason. Jagex is wrong by doing this and imagine the poor players who were 100+ how they feel right now? or the skillers or generally all players. sinceerly your friend -stone_uzer3 feel free to join my cc at any time for discussion.

-Moderator questoining, if you ask any moderator about jagex banning players for glitches they will agree with jagex. they are most likely copying a script of some type. all moderators are not players anymore but more like "jagex slaves" obeying jagex with everything. if a moderator interfeers with your cc, or general discussion, they will override the players so it is prefered to move to a different area or kick em from the cc.

"high lvls who waste years on their accounts to be banned for a simple glitch". People do glitches like this for fun, they have no intentions of disrupting the game in any way except for thier own personal reasons. I have had many accounts banned for bug abuse and i am still doing itcause i find it more interesting than any other aspect of the game. Bugabuse is also not an easy thing to understand, many of the fundimentals of bugabsue are extremely complicated which is why such a small population of the players do it. So could you 'Fagex' supporters get off our backs for having a little fun?
How are we on your backs? Ts4kNfA.png 10:46, July 1, 2011 (UTC)
That's your opinion, and what you yourself do. Many people do glitches (such as the bolt duplication glitch) to make mass amounts of money in game. Which certainly disrupts the game. Not only that but new player seeing glitches or players abusing glitches Can very easily make the quality of the game go down in there eyes. All of this is just my opinion also.
God vivec1 10:51, July 1, 2011 (UTC)
The Bolt abuse glich was only a problem because someone leeched it and because so few people know anything about bug abuse these leeching occourances are very rare and uncommon. Also why dose it disrupt the game if there is a flooding of resources? If anything it makes the game better as you dont have to spend so much money on buying things.

GreeGree + Easter Ring = glitch[edit source]

Does anyone else remember the greegree & easter ring glitch? I think it should be added.

You would use the Easter Ring then right-click the GreeGree, once you were a egg weild the GreeGree and you would turn into a weird stretched mutant thing. Karajma Fishing Dock to Wizards' Tower[edit source]

Twice I have been fishing on the Karamja fishing dock and was suddenly transported to the square directly east of Wizard Mizgog in the Wizards' Tower. Has anyone else had this or a similar problem? -- 23:16, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Fairy Ring glitch[edit source]

Today I used the fairy ring to head back to the bank from the desert, as I was heading to the ring located right by the Kalphite dungeon, I accidently clicked on a jackal and attacked it. I then proceeded to transport through the fairy ring and while doing so, I noticed the jackal following me. He followed me all the way into Zanaris. I took a screenshot and plan on uploading to photobucket, as I don't think any admins will allow it to be on this server. As I DK 20:55, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

I had noticed that a few of the other "glitch images" were removed from the glitch page. I figured that they were not acceptable due to the rules placed on personal images and whatnot. I'm sure i'm probably wrong but I happen to be one of those people that mark images for speedy deletion and I didn't want to be a culprit either... know what I mean? :) As I DK 21:43, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Name Glitch[edit source]

I remember playing a long while back (before RS2) when someone figured out that by using a modified client, they could add spaces in front of their name. One such hacker decided to name himself " Andrew". No one could talk to him since the client would automatically remove the space in front if you tried. Jadex did quickly fix the bug, they prevented further logins, but couldn't kick the player since the moderator's client also lacked the ability to ban players with the illegal name. They eventually had to restart the server to get the player kicked.

Ground Fishing Glitch[edit source]

When fishing in catherby, the spot closest to bank if you click on the grapple tree near by you will start fishing in the ground. It still works and will end in a bit if u dont go back to water. If you could put that in thanks!

the box glitch[edit source]

shouldnt the box glitch be mentioned? the one the box noob does?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

It's from a member's Quest that you need to take a goblin (Zanik) in the crate (box) and take her in a place. I heard you could die or either let your membership end.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk).

a souls bane glitch[edit source]

I put up a glitch on where a player managed to sneak anger weapons outside of a souls bane and it got removed. why?

I saw that it got removed because it could've been fake. How can i put it up in a way that doesnt look fake? (it isnt fake)

it realy isn't fake, you can check on youtube, so can anyone tell me how plz

Recent Graphics Update[edit source]

Did anyone realize a few glitches when the new graphics came out? I saw that the GE would not tell you if the transaction was complete until you clicked on it. I also saw that all full helms, for that day, had red plumes like a Zamorak full helmet, which made me, and my friend with full saradomin, confused. There are alot of new glitches with the new HD version, but it's still in Beta. I found alot of glitches, like if you wear a Lederhosen hat your chathead will be very small, only your beard is big. [][] (]:iSpacee :[) [][] 14:31, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

I just recently went bald after doing The Fremennik Trials, I'm not sure if it is relating to HD version. I miss my hair though :( 04:44, 18 July 2008 (UTC)

I've turned bald from a Jester hat, beret and camo hat. These baldness issues certainly have not been fixed yet, so they shouldn't be added. --Magic potion (4).pngCFLM Talk # Sign 02:38, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Same thing happens with the Castle Wars bridge sometimes.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bowler225 (talk).

Why are you mentioning it here? --Drummer (speak) 19:54, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
I believe this has to do with your graphics settings. I forget whether it was "ground textures" or "ground decorations", but I had both of mine set to "off" and had the same issue. Once I turned them on, the bridges reappeared. --nekobawt 22:54, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Glitches that have not been fixed by Jagex[edit source]

When did we decide that we would not allow those in the article? What is the point of that? In an edit summary I saw someone say that "We don't want to encourage people to play with bugs." Who cares, if it's something as minor as the moonwalking glitch, or a glitch with an emote? I don't remember having any "dangerous" glitches like the World 111 Glitch on this page. White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 10:58, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

First of all, it's so it doesn't make us look like we're encouraging bug abuse, especially since we follow the Runescape rules here. If we only mention them once they're fixed, people won't get so hyped up about it, and won't try looking for or abusing them. Not only that, it's also because people kept adding glitches here as if they were reporting them to us, instead of Jagex, who people should really report glitches to. We really don't want people to think "A glitch! A glitch! I should tell everyone at the RuneScape Wiki about it!". Instead, we want them to think "A glitch. I should tell Jagex about it, so it will be fixed." You can even look at some of the talk page messages above, where some of them look like they're reporting glitches to us. Not only that, this can also help prevent people cluttering the page with non-notable glitches as well as ones that we don't need to hear about (just look at this section, for example). Sorry if this doesn't sound very clear to you; I'm not good at these kind of things, and this was probably the best way I could put it. --Drummer (speak) 17:56, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
Well said Drummer. Also, with the introduction of RSHD, many, many graphical errors have been creater, that are so minor or pointless, that there is no real need to have them. Personally, I think the page should either be solely about performance glitches or split into Glitch/Performance and Glitch/Graphical. Graphical glitches will always happen, but rarely ever hinder a player's performance in the game. Glitches that hinder performance, in my opinion, derserve to be included and discussed. Karlis (talk) (contribs) 18:03, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
I was thinking that only performance glitches and abusable glitches should be mentioned (once they're fixed of course, so we don't get anyone in trouble). --Drummer (speak) 18:13, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
It's not abusing the glitch if it's something as minor as moonwalking! I see people using emote glitches all the time? Are they breaking the rules? White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 19:32, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
No, because they're got gaining anything from it. Telling minor glitches between friends is OK, but posting about them publicly on the wiki isn't. --Drummer (speak) 15:49, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
Why? White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 04:05, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Can we put glitches on the glitch page that cannot be abused? (ex.- a costume glitch, where someone's head is turned backwards because of something they're wearing) We wouldn't get in trouble if the glitch was non-abusive. Rollback crown.svg Spencer (Talk | Edits | Contribs) 04:36, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
If you go to "Report a Bug" to Jagex (under known glitches), and other places (i.e. Official Forums) they call some glitches ".. more like features" because there is no way they would put enough code to cover every instance of something so minor as floating across the Ditch... I believe if Jagex can call these "Features" than we can post about them. Also, we cover ALL bugs. Jagex fixes big bugs within hours if they feel it necessary.. The moonwalk glitch has been there since the beginning of RS2. Obviously they don't care and it's "cool".    Jathsen   (talk ° Contribs #)  13:17, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
Actually, we only cover notable bugs (such as ones that got J-mods involved, abusable bugs (once they're fixed), and ones that hinder the gameplay of alot of people), otherwise this page would just be full of clutter. --Drummer (speak) 19:59, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
So the Dorgeshuun crossbow special attack glitch hinders gameplay? And the Crazy Head glitch as well? Wait, since when were you the one to make the rules on this wiki?

I want to re-open this as it's highly controversial and I think a complete consensus needs to be made. I feel, personally, that this main page should be only performance hindering glitches, or simply glitches that are not graphical. Also, I feel that Glitch/Graphical should be created to post graphical glitches. They are interesting to read about, and since RSHD is still relatively new, there are many of these types. I agree that posting glitches that have not been fixed by Jagex should not be allowed.... for performance glitches. I don't think anybody could possibly be banned for a graphical glitch, as that does not give anybody an unfair advantage, and it's rarely ever the user's fault. Karlis (talk) (contribs) 22:00, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

I agree. I mean, we can list things like moonwalking and invisible bridges, but not something like a recreation of the Edgeville Massacre. White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 16:17, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Sorry for the formatting, I'm not good with editing. Look, I don't care if it's a glitch that resets everyone's stats! Our responsibility with the runescape wikia is to provide information. Unbiased, uncensored information. You have no right to choose what people get to learn. Censoring ideas is NEVER alright. -- 02:30, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Matt H.

I was recently at the Grand Exchange when I noticed a player "swimming" for about 2-3 seconds then returning to normal, above-ground stance. I believe this glitch was fixed and related to the fishing trawler minigame. How exactly it is achieved, I do not knowMjc3 02:31, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Guys, you need to think ... quit being stupid, you can't fix a glitch, because theres always going to be new ways...

Try to go back to land on the trawler, then before it crashes open the report abuse or skill menu thing. When it crashes you end up swimming on land (used to). Cheese13562

INVISIBILITY[edit source]

so, can anyone tell me why hapi removed 4 perfectly good images showing the invisibility glitch and replaces it with his own totally overkill animation? NO NEED! the pictures where just fine for this case, there is no call for an animation, and defiantly no reason to delete the gallery that i would say better showed how the glitch can occur. edit: should it be reverted (see image and media policy)? --Rollback crown.svgAburnett001 {Talk} {#} 15:04, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Invisibility is not a glitch! All you do is either type a period and bunch of spaces and then type what you want to say or type what you want to say followed by a bunch of spaces and a period. Your words appear to hover above an "invisible" person either to the right or left of you. I fooled some noobs with this one, but I wouldn't call it a glitch. --Sword Dope 19:21, 8 May 2009

Sorry if I'm late, but I've got recordings of players turning invisible on 4 squares near the rimmington house portal a few months ago. Animations would still work, only without the player. --CXgamer 14:52, March 21, 2010 (UTC)
