I think there should be an extension of the list of known fremennik, to residents of the village.
I think the fremenniks are clearly based on the old norse vikings, and that this should be added in the article. Their characteristic, horned helmets, scandinavian names, and longboats, are some of the things that back up on my thoughts (Note that the vikings didn't use horns in their helmets that much. That is just how people today think of them). Look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vikings for references. --Sss1911 21:28, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
I'll add to this section as it fits, their afterlife as shown in blood runs deep shows a long hall and as the fremennik are, most likely, based on vikings this is probally a reference to valhalla, the viking afterlife, valhalla is called "hall of the slain" on top of which the prince and princess' funeral in the quest is shown as them being pushed out to sea on boats and being put on fire, yet another reference to vikings. Correct plural spelling[edit source]
Is the correct plural "Fremennik" or "Fremenniks"? Brundt the Chieftain uses the former, but Hilda uses the latter. Thoughts? See also Category talk:Words with identical singular and plural --Nearin 15:16, February 24, 2010 (UTC)
I noticed on the catagories it says the Fremennik are Guthixian. But I couldn't find proof of this in game. Can anyone tell me where it says that?

Yeah Jonny, (Eldrvald here), I agree. Lets set our minds to campaigning that the Fremennik (in the generalist sense) be permanently struck off the list of "Guthixian followers". Sure you might see a few individual Fremennik who follow Guthix, and that's fine, it's their choice. Thing is, I remember visiting the Fremennik Spiritual Realm twice during the quest Blood Runs Deep, it is modeled after Asgard and the Longhall there is clearly supposed to be a Runescape version of Valhalla. This all comes from Norse mythology.
Now add the fact that Mod Osborne has confirmed a Fremennik God is seeded in existing Lore and is currently in development, to be introduced soon in a quest. Pay attention to his voice at 11:05 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45wZmNLNDiM It's a natural enough assumption that the Fremennik would follow Guthix simply because for all this time, the Fremennik God hasn't been released and elaborated upon. He was HEAVILY hinted at during Blood Runs Deep, makes me think of a God based on Odin, or Tyr or maybe even Thor.
Yeah lets stop calling the Fremennik barbarians, ok? Barbarians cant craft those impressive, advanced and beautiful longships, for one.
Trivia mistake[edit source]
The fremennik dont dislike magic, they dislike using magic in combat. So before I just delete it and get banned I will ask one thing: Could it be removed? Thank you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 220.127.116.11 (talk).
- Thanks for pointing that out. I've removed it. Suppa chuppa 19:43, June 30, 2011 (UTC)
Possibly worship Armadyl?[edit source]
During the quest, Horror From The Deep, in fact, when you talk to the first NPC of the quest; Larissa, she says something along the lines of "Thank Armadyl!", praising for the players arrival. And she is a Fremennik, and during the Seond Age, many people just south of Relekka worshipped Armadyl. Not to mention the Helm of Neitiznot looks very similiar to some Armadyl gear we have seen. So.....any thoughts?
I am editing this further beause, upon completion of Gunnar's Ground, I realize that Gudrun (after you speak with her father, and tell her that she should think of Gunnar's feelings) says "By the eyeballs of Guthix!" Since the Barbarian Village is a Fremennik settlement, could they also be Guthixians? But also an easy explanation for this could be that the Fremennik in the Fremennik Province worship Armadyl possibly, and since the Barbarian Village got information of other gods from nearby cities and travels, so they could have picked up on their beliefs slightly. Also it could be that Gudrun has been said to go out to "outlander cities" to buy fish from the market instead of fishing them, so while there she could have been told of Guthix and decided to change her ways. So.....any more thoughts?
I have made similar thoughts earlier in the article. Personally I believe some worship Armadyl and others Guthix.
Armadyl was probably the religion the Fremmenik had before the end of the God wars, and once it ended some started following Guthix and it is probably mixed now. 18.104.22.168 22:20, January 15, 2013 (UTC)
Edited Page[edit source]
I have just removed the sentence where it says the Fremennik worship Guthix, as it hasn't been shown if their main god is Armadyl or Guthix. 22.214.171.124 01:06, February 24, 2013 (UTC)JeffGC64
