Crafting Guild[edit source]

Just northwest of the crafting guild is a fairly large grove of willow trees. There is also a wonderful power-firemaking spot starting at the large rock to the northeast of the entrance to the guild. I submit that this area is at least as desirable a power-cutting (optional power-firemaking) spot as Draynor due to the fact that this area is seldom populated, meaning that the trees will yield more logs for each click. In Draynor, collecting more than a few logs from each tree is difficult due to the large amount of players also utilizing the trees. Of course, cutters laboring at Draynor receive the benefit of chatting with other players, but for those of us who are more introvert than extrovert will enjoy the relative silence of the Crafting guild. Thoughts? I mention this simply because out of the many guides to woodcutting I have seen, few, if any, have mentioned the large grove of willow trees next to the CG as a suitable power-woodcutting area. Oh My GOD[edit source]

One of the most disorganised articles I've seen on here. Added to Category:Cleanup

I'm working on cleaning it up right now and making it better. I'll try to clean up the writing, give some numbers on experience and profits, and just work it over. Gives me something to do while Woodcutting. Hopefully, people will find it much more readable when I'm done with it. Moochmaker (talk) 06:48, June 6, 2013 (UTC)

My stats[edit source]

At level 82 wc, cutting willows outside Draynor bank, using a rune axe and "Woodcutting Urns" I was able to fill 4 urns in 26 mins and 26 seconds. This resulted in 24,577 net exp. Doubling that figure, at level 82 one can make roughly 50k exp in 53 minutes cutting willow logs and banking them outside draynor bank. --Saxazax24.44.68.157 02:01, January 22, 2012 (UTC)

Changes to the skill guide March 2015[edit source]

I took out cutting maple trees and yew trees as training options in the guide. I found that when I tested maple trees they gave less experience per hour than continuing with cutting willow trees. Maples gave between 31.5K and 47.4K xp per hour with level 45 and 99 Woodcutting. Cutting yew trees gave between 30K and 44K xp per hour with level 60 and 99 Woodcutting. This means that players could cut around 250 yew logs at most (with level 99 Woodcutting) and earn only 63,246 gp an hour at current prices; so a better money making option would be to cut regular or oak logs. I don't really agree with removing the Maple and Yew log tree options from this page, I was wondering where'd they gone to. Sure they may be slower than Willows, but lots of people train Firemaking with Woodcutting, and cutting and burning Maples may be a viable option. I think everyone agrees that Yews are too slow, and only good for money making (or used to be). --Jonius7 05:27, June 19, 2016 (UTC)

You're welcome to add these experience rates to yew tree and maple tree if you think they would help people compare cutting these to other training methods. Magic logs detail.pngIsobelJTalk page 16:18, June 21, 2016 (UTC)

Discourage cutting yews[edit source]

Even at 99 they are slower xp than willows. And now that the price dropped from 500 ea to 200 ea there is little reason to chop them. Money making methods section of the article doesn't even list yews anymore. Could we include historic information or at least one statistic so I could refer people to read the wiki before they claim yews are oh so great to train on at lvl 90+ wc. 3ICE (talk) 18:09, February 17, 2017 (UTC)

There's experience rates for cutting yews in the section above, you could add them to yew tree if you wanted :) Magic logs detail.pngIsobelJTalk page 08:44, February 21, 2017 (UTC)

Evil trees[edit source]

There is something not mentioned in the guide, and it's about evil trees. They are the best experience in free-to-play although it can only be done twice a day and it allows you to get a woodcutting boon for up to 22 minutes with an evil yew tree with 100% contribution that would allow you to cut more trees without having to bank, fletch or drop potential logs.
