Tell me why I get only 151 exp, I thought I should get 252 when offering d bones?????????????????????

--AttackPenko TCE 18:45, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

The bonus exp doesn't apply to certain things. There's a forum thread regarding which rewards aren't affected. He has knocked four times. 18:48, March 12, 2010 (UTC)
Yes but the normal exp is 252 but I get only 151, why is that? --AttackPenko TCE 18:50, March 12, 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, that's a good question. It's possible that, in order for the bonus exp not to be applied to those things, they had to apply the 'formula' and then halve the final number. If so, then they might have halved the exp given at gilded altars by mistake. (Sorry if this doesn't make any sense whatsoever.) He has knocked four times. 18:53, March 12, 2010 (UTC)
From developer's blog: "These items will not work during the weekend as the effects of the bonus XP weekend will override any other items or areas that enhance XP rates. The item will not degrade when used during the bonus XP weekend. This includes clay items, Penance horns, brawling gloves, flame gloves/ring of fire, Fishing/Runecrafting/dragon slayer gloves and POH altars." Maybe it's because it would be hard to make that things which give already bonus exp wouldn't give double exp, so they removed the bonus exp from altars and others. Will prices ever go back down to a reasonable price?

Save the dropping price of D Bones[edit source]

These things are taking a big drop on G/E and i know no one wants to sell lowest price, but if you keep being cheap youre gunna take away 50k an hr by the time it hits 4k. So think before you sell, only you can bring the price back up. Anyone whos buying dragon bones has money to blow, considering the bigger value of using big bones. So keep the needy's pockets half way full.

Effects of Frost Dragon changes[edit source]

The modifications to Frost Dragon in November 2011, combined with the bot nuking resulted in a reduced supply of frost dragon bones. The rising price of Frost Dragon bones was a partial cause of the rising price for Dragon bones. However, a recent invisible update has halved the frequency of the Frost Dragon's orb ability, meaning that the increased supply and reducing prices of Frost Dragon bones is lessening the impact of the rising price of Dragon bones. This can be seen in the decreasing gradient of current growth in price.

Whether or not Dragon Bones continue to rise in price at a reduced pace remains speculative. Merchers may artificially inflate the price, resulting in Dragon bones acting as a price setter for Frost Dragon bones. Alternatively, the increasing availability of Frost Dragon bones may reverse this growth, resulting in a further price loss. This trend should be evident over the course of the next week or two. 13:57, November 24, 2011 (UTC)

Price history[edit source]

In Runescape Classic, the street price of Dragon bones was about 3000 coins. The price fell below 2000 coins at the beginning of the year 2009. It then started to gradually increase up to 6000 coins by July of 2010, but fell again to 4500 coins by the end of January of 2011. After free trade was reintroduced, the price skyrocketed and fluctuated between 5500 and 6500 coins. However due to the amount of bots killing dragons, the price of dragon bones dropped down to 2.5k. With the introduction of the Bot-Nuking day the price of dragon bones rapidly rose to well over 3000 coins per bone and is likely to rise further still.

The price then went to about 5-6k but then kept crashing. It is now currently back at 3k price range. Damn them bots.
