Weird line in the article[edit source]
There was this odd line in the article: " Note that as with all Deflect prayers, the Ferocious Ring does not add damage you reflect back onto the enemy."
It makes no sense, so I have removed it. King Muumuu 01:16, February 10, 2010 (UTC)
- I've seen players make some pretty stupid claims and a lot of the player-base seems to be very gullible. A clarification that the ring doesn't stack with deflected damage could help clear up some misinformation if such a rumor were going around. Especially so when considering the page about the ring just generally states that any hit exceeding 0 would automatically have 40 damage added to it when fighting monsters where its effect is active.184.108.40.206 19:12, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
Prayer picture[edit source]
Can someone please update the prayer picture so that it shows the correct one? Right now, it is that of one of the leech prayers.
Can someone clear up for me whether or not this curse protects 100% from NPC melee attacks like the standard protection prayer? A discussion of this would also be useful for the other two deflect curses. Vardarac 18:12, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
Yes, it does protect 100%. King Muumuu 01:16, February 10, 2010 (UTC)
Drain rate[edit source]
"The deflection curses are a primary reason for players to switch from the normal prayer set to the curses, as they have a slower drain rate than their respective protection prayers"
True or not? Both the Deflect and Protect pages say the drain rate is 1 per 3 seconds Sun ce224 17:54, December 7, 2009 (UTC)
The drain rate is the same for deflect and protect--Angra mania 03:30, December 8, 2009 (UTC)Angra Mania
Table for damage deflected[edit source]
There's something wrong with these numbers here. While it does seem to be 10% of the damage deflected, I have most definitely deflected 5-6 damage while slaying Steel dragons. It can't be that they hit 50-60 damage using melee, so what's the correct percentage? C.ChiamTalk 11:47, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, shoot. I just found out on the RSOF that the Ferocious ring adds to deflect damage as well. C.ChiamTalk 13:04, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
That is not true. I am at Dark beasts with a Ferocious ring and using Deflect melee, yet my maximum deflection is 1, since their max hit is lower than 19. The table seems to be correct and the ring does not take effect on the deflection damage. It is likely your high deflections comes from some glitch that considers the damage as what their fire would have caused if you didn't have an antidragon shield on. Thereby it would cause 50 damage and you could reflect 5. King Muumuu 01:22, February 10, 2010 (UTC)
Origonally the deflect prayers had damage which used the Ferocious ring to add 4 extra dmg. They changed that, maybe when he was at steel drags it was before it was fixed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 220.127.116.11 (talk) on 17:01, 17 February 2010 (UTC).
Armor with this prayer[edit source]
I was wondering if activating this prayer and removing my armor would increase the chances of them "hitting" and therefore reflecting more damage over time? Altzae 20:47, January 21, 2010 (UTC)
Prayer nerfed in PvP?[edit source]
Quote from the official Knowledge Base:
" Like the 'Protect from' prayers, Deflect curses stop 100% of damage caused by NPCs and 40% of damage caused by other players (in PvP)."
Quote from this Wiki article:
"This prayer can be used as a high-level alternative to Protect from Melee, and provides a 60% damage reduction against other players in PvP scenarios, rather than the 40% offered by the standard protection prayer."
So is it 40% damage reduction or 60% damage reduction? I'm certain it used to be 60% (better than the 'Protect from' prayers) but now Jagex says it's 40% (the same as the 'Protect from' prayers). Which leads me to believe two things:
- The prayer has been nerfed.
- The Wiki article needs to be updated.--Runerune239 18:34, February 10, 2010 (UTC)
Notice the difference between 60% damage reduction and 40% stopped. 100 - 60% = 40%. There has been no prayer nerf. Thunder9092 02:46, March 4, 2010 (UTC)
hes correct60% of x wichis damage reduction equals x-(40%of x)being damage stopped untill we can get a consensus on how this is best worded co7uld everyone please stop blindly changing numbers on this pageDuckersmash3 22:42, March 10, 2010 (UTC)
Actually guys, the deflect and reflect prayers now block the same amount, 40%. Secondly, 60% reduction and 40% blocked are not the same, 40% blocked and 60% left are the same. I'm ranting about this on the forums now...Long Live Armadyl 19:54, April 8, 2010 (UTC)
Drain Rate Errors?[edit source]
The article states that they have the same drain rate but in the table the drain rate for 'protect from melee' is 200 points per minute and the drain rate for 'deflect from melee' is 150 points per minute. Can someone check and confirm this? And then edit it to reflect the correct drain rate. I'd do it myself but I don't have curses available. 04ismailjj6 (talk) 18:37, April 7, 2013 (UTC)
