I did test both ranging and melee and i found that he is weak to ranging i am lv 83 ranging, using ruby bolt, whit black d'hide and could hit about 1 time out of 2 + there is 2 safe spot on both side of the room(go in the corridor) and whit 88 attack, 87 strength, 85 defence using super set, piety and whip it was hard to hit it so if someone else can confirm it would be good =) --I3igi3ob 18:04, January 11, 2010 (UTC)

Ffs! Ok, ranged with ruby and diamond bolts worked well. Dragon halberd did NOT, do not try this. Lagging out while finally having claimed almost 2,5 times its health (never managed to kill the roots)? OH YES, SIR! Aaaw, money down the toilet... 21:04, April 29, 2010 (UTC)

In the article it said the avatar is weak to fire spells, but when I killed it (using charged claws of guthix most of the time until I saw I was nearly out of blood runes) fire wave hit less often by quite a bit.

Can someone change this?

IIRC, Claws of Guthix is a stronger spell than Fire wave. Although the weakness is usually more important, sometimes it isn't the case. Can anyone confirm CoG versus Fire surge? I'd say that if fire surge doesn't do better, it shouldn't be considered a weakness. Anyone else have thoguhts on this? Kuma3 20:36, August 21, 2010 (UTC)
Claws of Guthix lowers enemies' defence by a considerable amount, which is probably where it would become noticeably better than Fire Wave. Keep in mind that many monsters have weaknesses, such as living rock creatures' weakness to crush, that are irrelevant due to how high (or in my example, low) their defence is. 04:40, August 29, 2010 (UTC)

Out of date[edit source]

Some of the information in this article is out of date, it should really be changed. Much of it talks about Pre-Eoc things, like strategies and max hits being incorrect.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 19:09, August 21, 2013.
