Merging[edit source]

No. This should not be merged with "Grim Reaper." That article is about the 2007 event NPC who is very different than the old one. masterGLASERAlalalaThat's "Glosser."

No also. As far as we currently know, they are two different people. Dragon medium helm! Whaddaya know?Chiafriend12Better than rune!Loon is best buttlord 23:08, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

No merge Chrislee33 07:17, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

This probably isn't needed, and the conversation probably ended ages ago anyway, but No. Grim Reaper and the Grim Spectre of Death are totally different. White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 01:12, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

The examine says 'Do not fear the Reaper', a probable reference that they are the same person. Also, in popular culture the Grim Reaper is a skull with a scythe, just like the Grim Spectre of Death. I don't think it should be merged, but maybe in behind the scenes say it's possible that this is the same character as the Grim Reaper. ~ Fire Surge icon.png Sentry Telos Talk

Death has different robes than Grim Reaper, Grim has the skillcape thing, Death does not. They are seperate people and should not be merged as one.

HAHAHA![edit source]

The pic is hilarious if the comma were replaced somewhere else: "I have come, for you R Nuts." Just wanted to say it :P Dave Lopo 23:00, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Dude theres a player called noob and i saw him die and Death said "I have come for you, noob."

Wait a moment now?[edit source]

Didn't Nomad's Requiem come out after the event? While I agree that it'd be stupid for him not to say this in the next event we still don't have any, proof and this site is not for speculations.HeadManiac 19:13, January 18, 2010 (UTC)

WAIT![edit source]

Pl0x wait before changing. Jagex might have an intention for Death and the Grim Reaper to be seperate people. I agree with the person who said wait because we don't know if Death is the Grim Reaper, although they probably are the same person.

Merge with Grim Reaper?[edit source]

My reasons for merging:

  1. In the real world Death and the Grim Reaper are synonymous.
  2. Both are usually portrayed as a cloaked skeleton with a scythe.
  3. During the 2009 Hallowe'en event, the Grim Reaper refers to himself numerous times as "Death" (e.g. after you finish the event he says "Tremble, mortal, for you have the gratitude of... Death!").
  4. The Grim Spectre of Death's examine is "Do not fear the Reaper". This is obviously pointing to Death as being the Reaper.
  5. This dossier from the Postbag from the Hedge lists one of the Grim Reaper's aliases as "Death".
  6. To keep the wiki consistent. Father Christmas is about to be merged into Santa Claus, and it wouldn't make sense to merge them but leave Death/Grim Reaper seperate.

Merge - As nom. ~ Fire Surge icon.png Sentry Telos Talk  22:03, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Merge - per nom. Chicken7 >talk 06:36, January 25, 2010 (UTC)

Slight support - Altough I would prefer Granularity, you do have a point. Ruud (talk)(Suggest me naems) 06:13, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - This is about the character that appears when you die during the halloween events, and he looks different. HeadManiac 22:29, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

Merge - Though he should have his own section on when he was in this state (see maniac's comment ) Magic-icon.pngStelercusIlluminated Book of Balance.png 23:12, January 29, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - They're different NPCs. 20px‎ Kudos 2 U Talk! Edit count! Contribs! 02:55, January 31, 2010 (UTC)

Merge - Death and Grim Reaper are two different names for the same entity. Sure he's involved in character death and Halloween events, but he's the same character even if the name isn't always consistent. Air rune.png Tollerach hates SoF Fire rune.png 09:00, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - They're two completely different NPCs. Players unfamiliar about this may get them mixed up, so merging the two articles isn't going to assist in their comprehension. Star Find 03:04, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

While they may have different models (and serve different purposes), they're the same character. To be honest, I find it more confusing to keep them separate. ~ Fire Surge icon.png Sentry Telos Talk  11:19, February 12, 2010 (UTC)

Weak oppose - They are probably the same character; however, they have completely different purposes (and appearances - Death's skull). White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 22:08, February 14, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - We don't know whether they're different or not. [[w:c:aceattorney:Logic|Do you have any evidence?]] --Coolnesse 15:16, February 26, 2010 (UTC)

Well, yes, the six reasons he listed above. White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 18:50, February 27, 2010 (UTC)
Reasons 1,2 and 6 aren't really sufficient. [[w:c:aceattorney:Organizer|Is it really ''that'' organised?]] --Coolnesse 19:35, February 27, 2010 (UTC

Oppose - They are 2 different things. This one is for when a person dies. The Grim Reaper if used in Halloween events. TyA 05:16, March 8, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - They are separate NPCs which coexist on the same time line. The Grim reaper first appeared for the 2007 event with a new look to what death use to look like, yet even after the Grim reaper appeared, Death (NPC) retained his old look. Therefore, it means that either jagex have gone: Old look, new look, old look, new look and old look simultaniously; or they are 2 separate individuals with no bearing on each other. Unicorn horn dust.png Evil Yanks talk 06:07, March 9, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose - They are different, so different pages are required. FarxodorTalk 04:28, March 27, 2010 (UTC)

"Grim Spectre"?[edit source]

I definitely remember that in 2006 or around that, I died, and an NPC named "Death" appeared. White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 22:07, February 14, 2010 (UTC)

I believe you are mistaken. In 2006, he was called the Grim Spectre of Death. I think he was known as this until the 2009 event, just as the article says. 20px‎ Kudos 2 U Talk! Edit count! Contribs! 18:57, February 28, 2010 (UTC)

my user name[edit source]

why my user name is there?

Don't be alarmed. It's a function used in wikia that shows everyone's username. You get it by tping {{USERNAME}} and the resut is this: "<insert name here>". To me, that shows up as Asparagoose. So it's not showing anyone but you your name, don't worry. 16:42, October 9, 2010 (UTC)

Username template[edit source]

Should we really have the {{USERNAME}} template on this page? Would in not be better to just put text indicating that the player's name goes in that spot? Like this" [Player name] or (Player name). I think use of the template is confusing.
FarxodorTalk 03:35, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

Maybe. But it always really bugs me when I see "Player Name" on a page. It looks so... unprofessional. 03:36, October 18, 2010 (UTC)
I have to agree there... I just don't like the current format very much. --FarxodorTalk 23:08, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

I agree as well. I thought someone was out to get me! 0.0 10hailfire10 12:57, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
