When one looks at all of the options for (f2p) magic XP without HP XP your main options are: Cursing or High Alchemy
Curse Pros Can utilize earth staff
Cons Requires mouse movement
Cost 2 Water Runes + 1 Body Rune = 29 XP 16(2)+1(10) 42GP/29XP ~1.448gp/xp
I still need to look into how long the casting animation takes to determine xp/hour to see if this is faster than casting high alchemy.
High Alchemy Pros Click in the same spot with correct timing for less strain on the wrist or use of the numpad for the same result SLIM CHANCE of making a profit if one buys their items to be alchemized (?) at below market price. I have yet to find anything that one can find in large amounts to alchemize for a profit.
Cons Must have something to cast the spell on
Cost Ah, the good stuff XP/Spell = 65 I have (theoretically) found that Adamant Platebodies are the best item to high alchemize if you are buying all of your items from the GE.
This is all assuming I did my math correctly.

Compare: .83GP/XP High Alch 1.448GP/XP Curse
Cursing also gives less than half the amount of XP that alching does. This means it would require >2x the amount of spells that high alching would. This also means 2x of moving the mouse from the spell menu to the target compared to no mouse movement with high alching. If anyone with 55+ magic uses curse to train magic without training HP you need to think again.
Teleporting isn't even applicable because it's crazy expensive and not fast enough to make it worth it.
If someone finds something that is more cost effective let me know.

- I think your results actually indicate that cursing is cheaper than alching. if I followed it right. Your units are GP/XP, or gold per experience point. Now, XP/hour would really tell us whether Cursing or Alching is faster experience. 22.214.171.124 08:06, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Yup, I was going for cost. If I find how many spells one can do in 60 seconds I can solve for XP/Hour

Impossible to get -65 magic attack[edit source]
I was referring to F2P only so mud battlestaves don't apply. With the release of Dungeoneering, the Tome of Frost could lead to 5.8 xp/gp becuase you would only need to buy body runes. I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say you can no longer get -65 magic attack while having a mud battlestaff equipped. The wiki says that it gives +10 magic attack. When a Mud Battlestaff (+10) or any elemental staff for that matter, is combined with Green vambs (-10), Iron platelegs (-21), Iron platebody (-30), Iron kiteshield (-8), Iron full helm (-6), and Fighter Boots (-3), you would end up with -68 magic attack, which should be enough to splash every time.
