Imagery[edit source]

Image has been updated...

Then why don't we update our page. In fact can't you just update a new version?Yellow partyhat.png Ilyas Talk Contribs 21:19, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
I'd love to. Unfortunately, I don't formally play RuneScape anymore. I don't even have an account, ever since it was hacked. But I do know a lot still about the game (look me up: Efred1234567), and I do my best to help update this.

Cow charms[edit source]

cows drop other charms to

[no signature, but the history shows this came from on 2 May 2008]

OK, I just killed 50 stinking cows north of Lumbridge and not a single one dropped anything besides the usual raw beef, bones, and cowhide. I'm thinking that if cows do in fact drop anything else, it's either (1) extremely rare, or (2) in a specific location.

Various people have edited this page over time and set the drop frequency of the various charms to "common". Please see the [| Yew Grove] for a discussion about what "common" means. You will see there is not agreement, but worst case "common" means 1 in 10.

If you kill a cow and find a charm on the ground, please first ask yourself if the charm might have already been there. If you believe the charm really did come from the cow, please add a comment to this page telling the circumstances.

Also, please do not set the drop frequency to "common" unless you first kill 25 cows and verify that you get at least 2 charms. Killing 1 cow and getting 1 charm could be just incredibly lucky, it doesn't mean the frequency is "common".

I just killed about 120 cows 2 gold, 3 green and 1 red I think the current percentages are about right

Clue scroll?[edit source]

I've heard that cows drop level 1 clue scrolls. Can someone confirm this? 00:11, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Best Place to kill Cows[edit source]

Hey i was summoning and realized that with the new shop update (I H8 it!!! ruined many things that i buy on a usual basis) anyways with the new shop update if you want to infuse pouches such as terror bird (Raw bird meet) or bloated leach (Raw beef) you have to basically go out and get your own because of shop shortage and these items usually dont sell on the grand exchange very frequently. I used the food shop in Oo'gloog to buy both of these but now the shop has only 300 of each instead of infinate. So i am looking for the best place to kill cows for beef (and also if some1 could, best place to trap birds for the raw bird meet) This would really help out alot on my road to 70 summon (make it much cheeper) Thanks and happy editing -- Slayer helmet.png Hmanballer talk | edit count | sign | HS Fire cape.png 02:18, October 1, 2009 (UTC)

Green charms[edit source]

They do give mostly green charms. From 100 cows killed (I know its few) I got 4 charms.

feeding cows[edit source]

ive heard that cows can be fed and this appears to be true because when you use an item on a cow it says "the cow dosen't want that" instead of "nothing interesting happens", but i havent been able to find anything the cow wants. im going to wat to find something the cow wants but i thought id just mention it.

Rare Charm[edit source]

On a members server, I killed a cow and it dropped a green charm. Shall I put it as rare? (Unknown Contributor)

Yes... it is considered rare. |0ComeKillLah, Meh|Talk to me!| 09:36, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

Charm drop rate for cows[edit source]

Today I killed 1001 cows, and submitted my charm drop count and had it flagged as a vandalism submission because it fell 3.12 standard deviations away from expectation.

Block7head 1001 6 3.12 29 1.89 3 1.28 0 2.12 Cow disallowed 2013-08-04 19:18:39

I am absolutely sure of my counts, as I had a charm impling, and a bone crusher, and measured both my prayer and strength experience gained to confirm kill count. And since all charms are picked up, can't make an error there: got 6 gold charms, 29 green, 3 crimson, and 0 blue. Makes me not want to submit data when I'm called a vandal. Who keeps track of this stuff?

Block7head (talk) 03:09, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

I'll take a look at our current log to see if there's anything wrong, and I'll incorporate your entry. Suppa chuppa Talk 03:12, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks. The cows I killed were in the pen north of the Taverley lodestone -- perhaps there are different drop rates at different locations? Block7head (talk) 04:44, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

cows updated ?[edit source]

i noticed today that cows look differently, they are more like real cows now :) anyway was it hidden update or was it just patch on latest update ? how come there is no post about it on rune wiki/cow section or on this talk.... --Quest point cape.pngxAsmir 07:44, May 4, 2014 (UTC)

It came with the Ashdale quest update. It was mentioned explicitly in either the news post itself or the patch notes (can't be bothered looking it up). I suppose nobody could be bothered to add a note to the page either. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 08:19, May 4, 2014 (UTC)
