Luck mechanics[edit source]

Is there a source for how tier 3+ luck increases the chance of receiving extra pages? Sounds dubious to me, though it might be true. Anastasious (talk) 10:23, 8 January 2020 (UTC)

T4 gives luck ring messages in chat whenever extra pages are obtained, which implies it does improve the rate. You could test t3 out with an enhanced luck potion or ring of Fortune. This may have been mentioned on stream when mods were talking about the agility course after release, however, I can't recall which (if any) videos had this.

Yes, but see e.g. luck of the Dwarves and the citation there: "The ring shines whenever a rare drop is received, not necessarily when the ring impacted the drop." The same thing could very well be happening with codex pages. Anastasious (talk) 21:31, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
Again, that just implies t4 luck improves the drop rate or frequency in general. It doesn't actually tell us to what extent luck affects codex pages (if at all).

So do you think we should flag the sentence on the page claiming that luck affects page drops? Without a citation, it looks like guesswork to me Anastasious (talk) 21:07, 9 January 2020 (UTC)
Not sure. Could argue that could be said about everything we think luck affects that Jagex haven't confirmed. The chat message gives us a reason to believe it affects codex page drops. I said 'if at all', just to include the unlikely event the message is a hoax. In short, we don't know for sure, but there's a good chance it's working as intended. I'll see if I can find a cite though.

I can't link the video because it's getting picked up by wiki's anti-spam.
