City Quests Locations

Tasks given

It should be checked if you can do quests for the same person more than once, or if the tasks given come for a pool of tasks/are NPC specific. So far i got these tasks:

• Psamtik:
  • Kill 32 Menaphite Thugs in Pollnivneach
  • Kill 33 Bandits in the Bandit Camp
  • Kill 34 Guards in the Desert Mining Camp.
• Hisamitsu:
  • Give him 17 Spirit kalphite pouches
  • Give him 21 Molten glass
  • Kill 24 Scorpions

Okay believe I've had 2 tasks from Kharl. Also I did a quick count and there's only 35 quest givers but the Menaphos tasks require at least 50 completed quests Ciphrius Kane 11:05, June 20, 2017 (UTC)

Tasks

I've had plenty of repeat tasks by different people and I haven't had a repeat of a task by the same person yet, so it seems random, which would make such a list pointless. Is it better to have the list of delivery items listed by type, like seeds, fish, weapons, etc. or Alphabetical. Alphabetical is easier to find when you're looking, but is there really a use for this list other than bookkeeping? Flaccid Phallus (talk) 18:44, June 16, 2017 (UTC)

I don't see why not being repeated by the same NPC is a reason to not have a list of all tasks available. And yes, it's better to keep it alphabetical, it doesn't make sense otherwise to randomly have groupings. I meant having the list of all tasks as opposed to having every assigner have their own list of tasks. And the question was more if it should be cursory or grouped by items, because groups would be easier for gathering, but alphabetical is easier for parsing.Flaccid Phallus (talk) 19:00, June 16, 2017 (UTC)

Oh, you meant it that way. Yes, there should be only one list (on this page and not on the individual CQ npcs), because they all share the same CQs afaik. Alphabetical makes most sense to me IMO. It's not like the NPC will tell you to get a combination of items, it'll always be one kind of items, so grouping them wouldn't make sense IMO.  Salix of Prifddinas ^(Talk)  19:06, June 16, 2017 (UTC)

According to the patch notes "The city quest fix to clamp objectives to 2-100x items was reapplied." This heavily implies the item quantities for each item aren't hardcoded, but rather randomly generated numbers each time. So the number of items is less important than what the items are for listing purposes. Dsctatom (talk) 15:19, June 19, 2017 (UTC)

Error in task description

There appears to be an error when the prospective Slayer Master assigns locusts as part of the City Quest. When asked where locusts can be found, the NPC indicates that they are located near a mine near Al-Kharid. Actual location is behind buildings in Sophanem. Suspect that this is a typo caused by writing multiple scripts for the NPC's to use when describing the desired tasks within the City Quests

Another error is when desert goats are assigned. Current NPC script says they are in a mine near Al-Kharid when actual location is in the desert near Nardah.

Time limit?

Maybe it's not time limited then, but dependant on a rep threshold? Because I was able to do one 30 minutes after completing the previous one and during that time I was actively going for rep in the city.  Salix of Prifddinas ^(Talk)  06:05, June 16, 2017 (UTC)

This seems pretty possible from what I've been personally seeing (or rather, my lack of quests when I'm doing other things in the down time) and others having a couple with ease, then not getting any for a day. Dsctatom (talk) 00:46, June 17, 2017 (UTC)

I do several per day, gathering reputation is the way to go. Not sure what the treshold is, i just go back to Ullek every now and then. ^Amo_Vos 11:43, June 19, 2017 (UTC)

So it's definitely not time based, because I did a CQ yesterday before logging off and I logged in now (~19 hours later) and there's none available yet. I just did my cap for soul obelisks, so I'm guessing the threshold is a more than 22.5k (I'm using Amascut's thingy from the desert patheon aura).  Salix of Prifddinas ^(Talk)  18:06, June 21, 2017 (UTC)

Saint blair (talk) 02:20, July 8, 2017 (UTC)ive had to wait 1 hour between each city quest and it has worked this way for me since launch, 1 hour time started when your last city quest is finished...for me it seems i have to be in-game for this hour to count down on the timer...i am t9 merchant and worker, t8 imperial and ports and this time hasnt changed for me at all with faction rep gain. (would have been nice if what i have said about this 2 weeks ago roughly wasnt removed, sorry for inconviences of others removing information)

Hello I have just returned to Charnak with ropes as requested and nothing interesting happens! He just asks if I have got the ropes and there is no provision for my answer. I have tried using rope on Charnak but it says nothing interesting happens. Help! What am I doing wrong? Lendel 1.43.69.247 00:21, June 18, 2017 (UTC)

City quest types

I've added a new section on types of city quests. This will take 2-4 weeks to complete maybe with dxp coming up. The goal is to have data on what tasks certain quests require (so "Crondis is Angry" = slayer, delivery, delivery). The names of the quests aren't official, just descriptions. The dialogue is bonus and I'm not sure if it belongs on a dedicated page or not. Feel free to move or change formatting. Anastasious, Feal to Armadyl ^(Talk) 11:57, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
