Trolls[edit source]

Is there any evidence that Trolls also follow Bandos? They are similar to his other followers. I mean, they also fit into the low-intelligence, warlike, brutish humanoids category. — Ali Irontoad (Talk) (Contributions) 20:03, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Potentially, though trolls have never mentioned a god, so it is unknown. Cool Spy0 20:04, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Did the Ogres ever mention a god?

Not from what I recall, but there ARE stone ogres in Bandos' throne room, and they meet the general Bandosian criteria.

Islam[edit source]

Is all this "Big High War God" stuff a parody of Islam? The High priest (in Land of the Goblins) says the commandments state: "Not to doubt Big High War God! Doubters must die! This means we slay goblins who not believe. Always to slay enemies of Big High War God! Enemies must die! This means we slay other races who not believe."

It all sounds a lot like "Allah is great, die infidels!", and may be a satire on the part of Jagex, with goblins representing Muslims. There is surely other evidence elsewhere. Is this worth discussion in the article? Leevclarke 23:58, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

No, that would be called Rascism 00:08, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Sounds more like a parody of the Crusades. The purpose of this comparison is to show that such a flimsy link can easily be drawn between a lot of religions and the ones on RuneScape. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 00:15, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
it's not same in islam, in islam if opponent are defeated they will give them mercy and will not kill innocent people. while bandos follower are thought Not to show mercy. Merciful must die! see [1]  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Realmguard23 (talk) on 15:37, July 4, 2012.
and please no offense in any religion Realmguard23 16:01, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
Also we Muslims dont attack others unless they are a threat to us and our religion, we bring peace mostly and war rarely, means balanced religion, oh and forgive the grammar, it's not our native language  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 178.61.239.65 (talk) on 12:20, September 8, 2012.
I doubt it, Islam stands for peace, the very opposite of what Bandos wants.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 95.175.67.186 (talk) on 22:56, August 21, 2013.
lol, never thought I would find such a xenophobic discussion here O_o should've known better of course. If its any parody at all... what about a parody on war itself? or on... the god(s) of war (in Greek, Roman, etc. religion). But since most followers of Bandos aren't too bright, maybe it's a parody for what happens when yuo don't really think. But it's certainly not a parody of Islam. Jagex even removed some Arabic looking characters from an in-game kebab staff in Al-Kharid because it's not PC. And of course, since Jagex is an inclusive company, they're certainly not going to make those xenophobic..."parodies". They wanted t give the Mahjarrat nordic/scottish accents... also that they didn't do (because Mahjarrat were percieved as evil, and there are tentions between England and the Scottish, etc.). They're certainly not going to do these racists things. Hope that answers your question ;) . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Armadyl[edit source]

I've come up with(Another) theory. It struck me as strange that of the 4 main combatants in the God wars dungeon, 2 are exact opposites(as Guthix has confirmed many times) So I thought: why can't Armadyl and Bandos be opposites? Armadyl is a good god, of law order and peace. His followers seem intelligent(or at least the guardians do) He seems to be merciful and the Aviansies even seem to have had a society. He presumably left Gielinor(If he did) because of the end of his beloved Aviantese, while bandos only loves bloodshed. He is an extremely cruel god who loves killing, untrustworthy and unadvanced(he even sits on a throne of bronze) with massive armies of different unintelligent species instead of only 1 race. Bandos doesn't seem to have another opposite and if Guthix would want to keep balance and stuff he would need an opposite for every god(dess), unless that one would be balanced like him too. Zaros isn't the god of pure evil most believe him to be so it probably isn't him. Please post your critics here.--Nantafiria 17:47, 4 September 2008 (UTC)--Nantafiria 17:33, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

You do make a good case, however the Guthix page points out that its Armadyl-Zaros, as an older form of Saradomin-Zamorak 00:13, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Old topic, sorry, but I have yet to find in-game evidence that outright says Armadyl and Zaros were an older form of S-Z. To me, Bandos actually sounds like a better opposite. Could anyone supply me with this evidence? Phoenixjo 08:44, April 28, 2012 (UTC)
I never quite got what the difference between Law (Armadyl) and Order (Saradomin) was as far as divine domains go, but don't think War (Bandos) is necessarily the opposite of either. As to what domain Zaros govers, I don't think anyone knows. I think I even read that at one time all other gods joined against Zaros when Zaros become too powerful, and later they all joined against Zamorak. Bandos didn't arrive on Gielinor until the God Wars started. And Armadyl left soon after the God Wars started, so they were rivals they were so for a very very short time. Talk to meTHARKONMy adventurer's log 21:18, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

I believe that bandos hate guthix, because he called him (evil),a proof is that most of the goblins battles after the wars were againest guthixians, like in eyes of glouphrie quest,or that hopspear ghost when he said all those they battles were guthixians, short people with pointy hats, short people with long beards and long humans with white robes(Druids) so about this armadyl opposite of bandos I think it's true, cause armadyl is justice and justice come from balance, while bandos is war and war is mostly againest balance. And zaros is not evil, because his return will bring balance again.--178.61.239.65 09:51, September 9, 2012 (UTC)

Image Needs Source[edit source]

The image at the end of the Information section needs a source. It looks like a cheap doodle someone did in Paint and the accompanying text of "The only known image of Bandos himself" doesn't help its case either. I added the Template:Fact tag to the image's text. If I happen to come back in a few weeks and it's still the same, I'll probably just remove the image, taking silence as consensus. 70.41.70.136 04:06, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Possible Followers?[edit source]

If the article is going to list possible followers shouldn't it list giants? Giants are basically two eyed cyclops and as giants are aggressive like most bandos followers wouldn't it make sense that they followed him? Chaos knight 21:03, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

  • In my opinion, it should. Antonstaen 17:16, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

Items?[edit source]

Doesm't this article need a section for the Bandos Objects, such as the ones seen on other God Articles? i.e, Bandos Tassets, Bandos Kiteshield, etc.. ExclaiimerTCUSG 10:24, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Anyway, I added a template to the page. There's no reason it shouldn't be there. ExclaiimerTCUSG 17:24, May 1, 2011 (UTC)

Guthix?[edit source]

I was just thinking, bandos could have connections to guthix, as he seems to (intentionally or not) create balance through war pretty often.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.118.150.13 (talk) on 18:45, June 13, 2012 (UTC).

Bandos arrived on Gielinor while Guthix was asleep and was forced to leave when Guthix woke up, so no. Guthix has no associations with anyone. And Bandos doesn't care much for other gods either as long as they don't prevent him from waging war. So the only thing they have in common is their general neutrality towards others I guess. Talk to meTHARKONMy adventurer's log 16:01, June 17, 2012 (UTC)

Tuska the boar, is not Bandos[edit source]

One of guthix's memories describes a boar leading an army of "squat green creatures" to wreak distruction during the god war on his homeworld. Pretty damn sure this is bandos 69.179.17.116 01:51, March 14, 2013 (UTC)

Pretty sure Bandos WANTS followers (see Chosen Commander, instead of not caring (see Guthixian Memories). IN addition Bandos does not seem to have horns (see The Origins of Gielinor video) while Tuska does (see Memories again). Bandos is not mindless per se... . . . The main picture of Saradomin Vs "Bandos" has me wondering if the creature currently called "Bandos" might be Tuska, has it been confirmed the boar like thing fighting Saradomin is Bandos? I know its likely considering the O.O.G vid is supposed to be Gielinor godwars but just wondering. Gormagon (talk) 23:15, March 15, 2013 (UTC)
Go to this page, that is what looks like a boar. Bandos doesn't. We can be pretty sure that this is Bandos because of the symbol on the belt and the fact that those are gods fighting each other. You might not have read the FAQ[1] but it clearly states Bandos is NOT Tuska. Hope that makes it easier to make out ;) . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Varrockian Symbol On Bandos' Shoulder?                                                  [edit source]

I noticed that in the Origins of Gielinor video that on Bandos' left shoulder is the symbol of Varrock (Golden shield with 2 black swords) and i was totally confused because varrock wasn't established until the 4th-5th age. I also wrote about this in the trivia. Someone please explain to me why and how the Varrockian symbol is there... Lord Nexius (talk) 02:17, March 17, 2013 (UTC)

Well... I'm sure it's not a (A)Varrockian symbol then, it the city wasn't established then. Maybe it's just to show the War element..? You know, crossed swords are mostly the associated with that. He is the god of war after all.
And maybe when people founded Avarrocka they found symbols like that, and thought it to be a nice Symbol for their city - cos the area was known as that area with he crossed swords? I'm sure I don't have to say this is way too speculative for me even :P . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Can't it be a coincidence? Maybe Bandos and some Avarrockian dude just came up with the same thing a few millenia apart from each other. Ancient talisman.png Oil4 Talk 10:30, March 17, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, obviously, I think it's more likely to be some sort of convergent evolution. I was just speculating in the line of there being a link in the first place. . . . Unfortunately, it's not ours to use, it belongs to another site (Although I believe it belongs to Jagex legally.). We could POSSIBLY link to the source of it, but I don't know how that'd go down with everyone. That artwork is outdated anyway, he won't look like that when he actually appears in-game.
