Experience Per Hour[edit source]
I am newly registered but always have been a fan here so feel free to tell me if I did anything wrong. Anyway I got maxed melee here at Armoured Zombies. I Was averaging 100k - 110k xp per hour myself. I was using Neitiznot Helm, Bandos Chestplate, Tassets, Dragon boots, Zerker ring, barrow gloves. whip/rune defender skill cape (T) and a fury. I was super setting (super Attack, Strength, Defence), Had a Salve (E) and had 70 prayer for Piety. Basically the perfect setup short of a bunyip. So if I used a bunyip it could have been 110k-115k per hour if not higher. I did do multiple tests while training to make sure of the xp I was getting... Feel free to use this however. I was using neitiznot, Bandos Chestplate, tassys, d boots, P.S. I was picking up nothing to get max xp. I did this for 99 Strength, Then Attack, Then Defence. Emporer_Diaz 15:44, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
Two varieties or just one?[edit source]
The article says 'There are two varieties - ones that attack with a scimitar and ones that attack with thrownaxes (thereby using Ranged).' It looks to me like there is just one variety of Armoured zombie, but it has two types of attacks: scimitar for melee attacks when the player is next to it, thrownaxe for ranged attacks when the player is not adjacent. It looks to me that a zombie throwing axes at you switches to the scimitar when you move adjacent. Can anyone confirm this? Inelcirc 21:05, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- Two varieties is correct. Inelcirc 22:54, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Better than Desert Bandits?[edit source]
Can anyone confirm whether these are better XP than the desert bandits?
Coolcoder9t 22:52, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- These are better then Dessert Bandits in terms of max xp/hour, 99% sure. Just a few higher requirements though, but you can really take advantage of these. (70 prayer, 68 summoning, stats in mid 80s helps a lot, salve ammy (e), etc.) Jedi Talk 17:46, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Loop Half key[edit source]
I just got a loop half key from these.
Alex10019 13:18, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Zombie Champion Scroll[edit source]
Is it confirmed that it drops it, or is it just an assumption?
- I actually got a Zombie champion scroll from these today so it's confirmed. Bendik.Talk 02:37, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah they do. I got one and my brother did lol. Jedi Talk 04:50, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Exp per hour[edit source]
- So I tried it again, this time with salve amulet e and chivalry(don't have 70 pray) and I received only about 80k exp an hour instead. Does anyone else get 100k exp an hour from these guys? Powers38 おはようヾ(´･ω･｀) 12:36, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
they are 80-100k xp per hour. You can use salve amulet(e) which is +20% attack and strength. You can use dragon battle axe spec with a restore potion(15gp) and use free piety as there is an altar. With all of this except dragon battle axe not usable on the normal training monsters like bandits. As well as the good drops makes it an excellent monster to train on--j-g 17:00, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
- I know..But I was testing it out first. I did not have salve amulet(e) nor did I have piety, So That is probably why I received 50k an hour. I will do another test today after school. Powers38 おはようヾ(´･ω･｀) 01:02, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- I think that whole 80-100k is an estimate under ideal circumstances. With salve(e), piety, DBA spec and 88 strength (boosted to 105) I just barely cracked 70k, at times it may be more but more realistically 80k is not the minimum. 18:04, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
- I think the 100k+ xp per hour is regular stats in the mid 90's or something, and then boosted. I am training there and this level 134 says he can get 110k xp/hour. Having high prayer helps reduce trips too. Jedi Talk 18:25, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Choice of weapon and armor have a big impact on the xp. I am using Guthans for healing and d scimmy with rune defender for strength training. Most I get is about 70k an hour using chivalry and super pots at 92 str. If I had full bandos 80k would seem reasonable. Add a whip and the numbers for ideal equipment add up. The question I always wonder on the xp per hour listed is what equipment is assummed?20:23, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Keep in mind that you get hitpoints xp here also. I can get 70-75k strength xp/hr here with sara sword, piety, and salve ammy (e). Plus I get another 15-20k hitpoints xp/hr, so it's about 90k total xp/hr. Ty2490 20:18, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
- It really is a great way to train if the Salve(e) is used.-- 04:03, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
Killing Guide[edit source]
I'm going to add the two different ways that everybody seems to use to kills these, either using protection prayers or by tanking them with strong armor and healing familiars. If somebody finds it unneccassary or no in a NPOV, feel free to delete it.Jdogy15 20:02, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
what items to take[edit source]
I dont really agree with the fact that barrows armor is not recommended just because of the degrading factor. Unless it is used very many time it will cost far less than full bandos. I'm changing it to recommended only if the player has sufficient funds to repair it.01:27, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
- I disagree. You can always sell back Bandos armour, and maybe lose a mil or two if you're really unlucky. With repairing Barrows armour, the money seems to go into a pit. And plus the prayer and str bonus make up for the very small defence bonus stats lost over Barrows (Torag's or something). Jedi Talk 17:43, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Your forgetting the fact that you can also resell barrows, and again, unless you use it a ton, the cost of barrows overall will cost less, because bandos armour is always jumping around in price. But still, either way your good. Many players just cant afford bandos.04:09, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
ok you can indeed sell back barrows~~ but you stil got to repair barrows ;o
Hidden secret of RuneScape[edit source]
Alright, I am convinced these are a hidden secret in RuneScape. This is THE best place to train for higher levels, and I've talked to so many people, 130s, quest-capers, people who don't do quests, etc who haven't even heard of these. Alright people, don't go to the Monkey guards, don't go to Bandits, come here. BEST PLACE to train, hands down according to my standards. I've seen 52s with whips here, I can hit 44s myself. And these have low defence and the perfect amount of HP. TRAIN HERE people!!! Jedi Talk 17:50, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- I prefer training combat via Slayer, but yep, Armoured zombies probably are THE best place for hardcore powertraining. 17:53, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
"Pick up all stackable/noted drops, (charms, all types of planks, pure ess, Runes, and mithril arrows, except for Eye of Newts and Cosmic Runes." http://i39.tinypic.com/qwzvv8.jpg You guys are retarded cosmics make more money then natures, deaths and chaos learn the facts before posting random junk.
Lol? You're calling us retarded because of our information? We aren't always correct, that is why everyone is able to edit and to make it as accurate as possible. You could have just corrected it. Powers38 おはようヾ(´･ω･｀) 05:42, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Sorry its just that its kinda annouying seeing an erer like that that sombody with likley no knowledge of azs inserted and i don't like to edit becuase they usualy get reversed.
- First of all, try to correct your grammar, second, nobody is perfect, third, only vandalism get reverted, not any information given by somebody without an account, and finnaly, sign your edits with ~~~~, even if you don't have a RSW account. 16:07, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
Void set[edit source]
I just want to know if melee void set is effective for training there for it's effect? I don't go often to kill them, and I only trained there once, but left to go to a wiki CC event (), and I can't compare void set with other things like Bandos armour, as I don't have enough money to afford it. Can somebody pretty please test it? Thanks. 16:15, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
void is effective if you use good strength bonus armour aswell and use strength potions aswell as protect from melee and you will be fine :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 18.104.22.168 (talk).
I have used void before, and it works well. It stacks with the bonuses of the salve amulet/salve amulet (e). If you are training strength, bring a saradomin sword, full void melee, and, if you can, a firecape and dragon boots. Sky 0f Death 17:39, January 18, 2010 (UTC)
Can someone help me?
Headgear:zeker helm Cape:Zammy cape
Body:bandos chest plate
Legs:d skirt =P
Gloves: Addy gloves (rfd)
Is that good? and what inventory I should take?
--19:21, September 12, 2009 (UTC)
- Alright your gear is pretty much perfect. You might want a higher level form of RFD gloves or maybe helm of neitinot. But other than that you're petty much good!
get dragon boots rather then rune boots for the added strength bonus
-Anyone have information about training with a Godsword for str?~Aegis Miner
How much money per hour?[edit source]
What's the average cash per hour made here?
i made 450k in an hour once but i picked up almost everything including herbs, which arent stackable so i had to bank often.22.214.171.124 03:37, November 21, 2011 (UTC)tyty.
I make 200-300k per hour. --Jonaboy 21:44, November 13, 2009 (UTC)
Clue scroll[edit source]
I have been fighting theses for a while now, around 2m xp and i haven't seed any clue scroll yet. I've talked with a few of the people there and they haven't got any as well. I checked my bank and i don't have one there. I was just wondering if they really updated them (i remember getting one last year there)or if i am just unlucky. Please only post if you have gotten one recently or agree with me, saying that they don't drop clues anymore.--Jonaboy 21:51, November 13, 2009 (UTC)
I got one last monday 126.96.36.199 21:10, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
Okay, thanks--Jonaboy 19:24, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
Other drops[edit source]
Besides counting all the charm drops, I kept track of rune and essence drops for 3,698 kills:
- Blood: 333
- Chaos: 216
- Cosmic: 504
- Death: 84
- Nature: 162
- Pure essence: 3,167
Charm Drops[edit source]
I don't think the charm drop percentages listed on this page are correct. I've never kept detailed drop logs here, but there's no way AZs drop as many blue charms as gold charms. --Ty2490
- Someone vandalised it, increased the blue charm drops greatly and reduced the killcount. Fixed. 19:13, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
Drop Correction?[edit source]
I have fought Armoured Zombies from 70 attack, 70 strength, and 70 defence all the way to 85 attack, 85 strength, and 85 defence. I've received 9 Champion's scrolls, but I have never received a Dragon Spear or Shield Left Half. Has anybody received these drops?
- Well not to bring back a dead topic, but, can't you only get one Champion Scroll for each Champion...? Now that I heard that I'm kind confused o.O And no, to answer your question. I have played Runescape since 2004 and have never got a Shield Left Half or Dragon Spear..
- I have personally received a Dragon Spear when I came home from school one day decided to kill some and got it in the first 20mins so yeah Also I have gotten 2 effys in about 3 hours so i know they drop them and champion scrolls are pretty rare tho -WhatsUpJonny-rs October 28,2011
Thought it might be useful to mention that the fist of guthix cave is directly south of the dungeon, and is probably the closest188.8.131.52 07:08, October 8, 2010 (UTC)
Im not sure how to exactly edit this one, but it seems it has been a while since it was updated. banking would be Varrok tele tab i believe, since the wildy is now back in full swing they took all the events in the wild and moved them to the gamers gortto outside of falador. and also you cant leave that area of the wilderness now when you have been escorted by Hartwin.184.108.40.206 00:06, September 17, 2011 (UTC)
Melee Weakness.[edit source]
I realise that Salve (e) only works on melee, but what melee *attack style* works best? I've observed that it seems to be crush, but I dunno. Icecold531 01:37, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
- Crush seems logical too, because of their armour - but can some-one do some testing? 18:59, September 19, 2011 (UTC)
How i got 99 str at armoured zombies[edit source]
This post is not to tell you how to kill Armoured Zombies, it is simply how i did it. With some minor suggestions
First off lets start with my stats
Attack 76 Strength 99 Defence 76 Pray 67 Constitution 91 Range 83 Mage 81 Summon 9
So i started training on armoured zombies at 87 Strength And it took me a little over 1 month of training EVERYDAY. This is probably one of the most boring methods, but relatively fast.
If you don't want to die of boredom i suggest slayer to get 99 str.
I was averaging 70-80k xp/hour. which isn't alot for Armoured Zombies, but i wanted to make as much money as possible while training.
Let me tell you how i did it, and how you can do it better.
FIrst off i used SS/Voids/Salve(e)/D-Boots/Obby Cape/ring of wealth. Not the best setup but somewhat effective.
I picked up most drops including all planks and herbs worth over $2k which slowed me down alot since i had to bank often
In my inventory i carried Varrock teletab/1 super set and 8 monks which worked out perfectly to fill 1 full inventory, especially since i prayed melee.
But if you want to lvl FAST here is what i suggest!
Use a high def armor, i dont care which or get as high a prayer boost as possible.
The main difference is you are NOT going to pick up drops, your will use bunyip if you have the summon lvl, and you will pray piety. I have heard of people getting 120k xp/hr using this method.
I hope this was a little helpful I am going to post how much money i made in about 1hr. I saved all of my loot from 91 str
Thanks for reading,
P.S here is the money i made
I made 17.7 mil from 91 str to 99. List of items, some of the items i got were from random events.
Plank: 6,588 Dwarf weed: 139 Kwuarm: 258 Pure ess: 14,663 Tooth halfkey: 3 Ranarr: 442 Oak Plank: 3980 Cadentine: 124 Adamant Kite: 126 Teak Plank 544 Lantadyme: 130 Avantoe: 229 Toadflax: 3 uncut emerald: 18 Uncut saphire: 37 uncut ruby: 6 Blood Rune: 2128 Nature Rune: 1903 Cosmic Rune: 1717 Feather: 1399 Irit: 108 Death rune: 925 Cosmic rune: 2140
Prices are subject to change, and i hope this helps!
XP an hr? Do I fail?[edit source]
Firstly, I'd like to apologize if I mess something up while making this response as I literally have no idea how to use wikia. Secondly, I would like to state my setup to explain my xp/hr.
Helmet: Dragon Full helm (or) Weapon: Saradomin Sword
Gloves: Klanks, too lazy to do desert treasure for RFD so sue me :D
Boots: Dragon Boots
Amulet/Necklace: Salve Amulet (e)
Ring: Just in case, Ring of life (Tremendous lag lately)
Fight zombies using protect from melee and piety. Pretty easy.
No looting. Focusing on xp.
I'm only getting like 55~k/hr xp wise. Any help?
If u use a bunyip instead of praying melee, it would let you stay and fight longer, instead of constantly recharging prayer. Also since your not looting, you should FILL your inventory with super sets.
and lastly..... finish RFD!!!!! barrows gloves kick ass!!!
hope this helps,
i would definitley suggest using the highest def boosting armor you can. your str lvl has a lot to do with why you only get that xp/hr. i would suggest getting maybe Torags, it is relativly cheap and very effective. dont worry about the cost of fixing the armor, its completely worth it really. now what im using is Helm of neitiznot bandos tassets and plate (borrowed, working on my own set atm) dragon boots whip and dfs, with SW cape. and im getting exactly 111,271xp per, and i made a dumb mistake and took a fury for the first 25 minutes, and was like dang. so i have my salve (E) on finish, i beleive i could have added a considerable amount to that xp/hr.
Tnk NSpank. (also using no prayer whatsoever.)
personally im a 30 def turmoil pure and im 99 range 99 magic with 87 str and i use prossy here and its amazing exp better than what i was getting at bandits —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 220.127.116.11 (talk) on 03:53, April 2 2012 (UTC).
Zombie Aggressiveness[edit source]
I've fought these zombies for nearly 5mil experience, and they are aggressive 100% of the time if you go up and down the ladder. Pretty sure they changed this with the wildy update, as the altar is now in an instanced zone and therefore a sufficient distance to re-aggro the zombies.
- Nope still works just fine my friend 09:37, April 5, 2012 (UTC)
Trivia suggestion[edit source]
Thought that it would be a nice bit of trivia to add that the ranged zombies' downswing trail switches between red and green depending on wat angle you look at it from.09:40, April 5, 2012 (UTC)
Anagogic Ort[edit source]
They seem to drop 20 Anagogic Ort pretty commonly and only in drops of 20. Confirm if you would like. 00:41, August 15, 2012 (UTC)
Putting this here for use later,,,
