Question: Does the Armadyl Chestplate interfere with Ava's Accumulator?

I don't understand what would cause it to... Karlis (talk) (contribs) 16:32, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
The article says it's made of metal, is it true? I have never seen anything to prove this in RS. Quest point cape detail.png Brux Talk 20:39, January 15, 2010 (UTC)
Chestplate connotes to being made of metal, like the Bandos chestplate or the rune platebody... Jagex named it chestplate rather than (leather)body or (leather)top for a reason, but thats hardly firm evidence (more like speculation TBH). Plus it not interfering with ava's devices suggests it is not made of metal or is made of a special metal of some sort. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 21:18, January 15, 2010 (UTC)
I highly doubt it's made of metal, because Bandos chestplate doesn't interfer with Ava's device either, and the Rune platebody's proof on the way it's made of metal isn't because of the plate part, but it is because of the Rune part of the name. plus, this wiki isn't place for speculation. I'm removing it until there is some kind of proof that it's made of metal. Quest point cape detail.png Brux Talk 22:14, February 20, 2010 (UTC)
Ahrim's armor does. Does that mean that Ahrim's is made of metal? ----LiquidTalk 22:16, February 20, 2010 (UTC)
Ahrim's armour does what? it doesn't interfere with Ava's device as far as I know. Quest point cape detail.png Brux Talk 22:17, February 20, 2010 (UTC)

Just saw that it indeed does interfere with it. But its name isn't "Ahrim's chestplate", it's "Ahrim's robetop". Quest point cape detail.png Brux Talk 22:19, February 20, 2010 (UTC)

I know. My point is that we can't conclusively state if something is metal based solely on whether or not it intereferes with Ava's accumulator. I've fixed two glaring spelling mistakes of yours too, Brux. ----LiquidTalk 22:20, February 20, 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for my spelling mistakes, I was in a rush. Anyway, there's no way we can tell if the Armadyl chestplate is made of metal or not, so that statement was pure speculation, which doesn't belong to the wiki. Quest point cape detail.png Brux Talk 23:41, February 20, 2010 (UTC)
There's little doubt in my mind that the Armadyl equipment is made of some kind of metal. Just looking at it, I don't know what else it could possibly be. However, there are a great many metals in the real world that are not magnetic; would it not work the same way in the Runescape universe? Since Ava's accumulator works on a magnet, only magnetic metals should interfere. Suppose for instance that Armadyl is made of silver and gold, as it appears to be. Neither of these metals are in themselves magnetic -- thus, even if made of some kind of metal, it is probably not a magnetic metal. This is also speculation, but I think it is the farest conclusion we can come to! Chrishankhah 23:51, September 1, 2010 (UTC)
Honestly, me and my friends have made many humorous remarks about this exact subject. It's clearly obvious that armadyl armour is made o' plastic.75.133.174.15 13:03, January 11, 2011 (UTC)

Armadyl Chestplate on girls[edit source]

The Armadyl Chestplate has been updated yet again for female players. Jagex appears to have added a second pauldron since the Chestplate was missing one on the right side of the player avatar's body. Other than that, I didn't notice any difference between this updated version and the older model. [1] N7 Elite (Ready to talk now?) 17:47, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

I believe that the appearance on female characters has been changed yet again, mainly the helm this time.Kong No Foo 17:53, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

Updated on males![edit source]

Could someone please update the image as the male armour has been altered, the plate is now a full top

cheers! ~jd

Agreed with both of the above comments -- both male and female images need an update. This seems like something needed for awhile. Sadly, I'm not sure how to produce a screenshot with graphics worthy of the Wiki page. This is probably the biggest reason for delay. I'd be willing to help out if someone can lend instructions on getting a good capture! Chrishankhah 23:51, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

metal[edit source]

METAL OR NOT.

Since there is a chestplate matching with the chainskirt, have you ever heard of a type of chainmail that isnt metal? Hint the "chain" in chainskirt. Just a pair of bollocks.

Just a little question regarding the pictures...

Could someone please identify the boots and gloves worn by the female character model please?

Much obliged.

Hey that's me. :P The gloves are default with the my default shirt (beastmaster), but gloves of silence look the same pretty much. The boots are vyrewatch boots. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 03:33, May 18, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for the speedy reply! The clothing+armour combo look so great together.

Armadyl body from Treasure Trail is vastly different[edit source]

Thanks for updating the "see related" header for the Armadyl body. However, the reason I added it is because the thing is only similar in name. Its' stats are the same as black dragonhide - a long way from Armadyl chestplate! (So it's not like the "lucky" version.) But the virtually identical name is rather confusing ... a body is a chest eh? Maybe I'm wrong to want this here, but boy was I surprised on the GE. Again, the Armadyl body article was already linked to this one. It just seems relevant to me, as the names overlap, but the items are *so* radically different, although I did not express this well. I am not reverting because I don't want to edit war - it's your call. Pokemama (talk) 11:03, November 25, 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure what you mean. I only seperated them and used the proper template, however I added some more text to it now, to make it more clear that this is the GWD item and not the elite TT reward. Atleast that's what I think you meant. Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 11:13, November 25, 2015 (UTC)
