Regarding the benefit of getting more runes at the Ournaria altar:

I'm a level 71 runecrafter, and typically have 48 pure essence with me per trip. With the Ardougne Cloak 3 I typically come away with 60-62 new runes per trip, so this is a pretty significant bonus. You recieve the experience for the extra runes as well. I'd love to hear from people with other runecrafting levels to see if the extra numbers are in any way related to RC level or simply based on how many total essences you are carrying.

It'd be nice to add some sort of chart to this page at some point, so that sounds like an excellent idea. =D WWTDD? 20:22, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

types of runes[edit source]

Also, the bonus seems to largely affect only one or two types of runes. For instance, on my last trip I ended up with 18 nats out of the 63 runes created. I'm assuming that each time you click on the altar to craft runes the "bonus" runes are from one type, so if you empty pouches and familiars, you'll most likely end up with different runes as the bonus runes each time. In this case I believe that my bonus happened to land on nats a couple of times. I've not yet noticed a time when I've had an inordinate number of runes lesser than cosmic, so I'm certainly curious if this is affected by RC level as well. -- 00:51, October 22, 2009 (UTC)kmumaw

Gloves of Silence Stack?[edit source]

Does anyone know if this cape or the other Ardy capes for that matter stack with the effects of the gloves of silence? --AlexF 03:15, October 23, 2009 (UTC)

I dunno, but that's a very good question. Jagex really needs to start making this kind of information public... kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 03:18, October 23, 2009 (UTC)
I've tested it and the gloves seems to stack with the cloak:

Number of Fails (100 tries each with 81 Thieving):

NPC Neither Both Cloak Only Gloves Only
Knight of Ardougne 22 11 13 14
Paladin 48 42 47 48

Doesn't seem to stack for me. (63 thieving) In fact, it seems like I fail more often when using both on Master farmer.HappySir AdunkleyEaster(Talk)(Sign) 17:11, November 11, 2009 (UTC)

That table doesn't seem correct, maybe you need to increase the amount? Why bother using the cloak if it only makes you succeed 1 more time or gloves when it doesn't affect it? I don't think it stacks because with the Knight of Ardougne sample, the cloak decreases it significantly while both only lowers the failures by 1-2.--Moneypony 08:56, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

100 tries is not enough data. 11:05, March 16, 2010 (UTC)

Knights of Ardougne XP Rate[edit source]

In 15 minutes of continuous pickpocketing of an ardy knight that was outside any building my xp counter ran up 25K xp. I also stopped a few times to private message a few people though, so someone with a knight trapped in say the north building can easily run up 120k xp/hr using both the gloves and cape. This is at lvl 86 though, so I'm guessing at about 65-75 you might still be able to get 90-110k xp/hr. It's an entertaining and fast way to train atm, I haven't done these since 55-65 thieving. I also end up having minutes go by without getting caught, though it's 3 mins tops (once), normally i get caught about 2x/min I'd say. Another way of putting the failure rate in perspective is I'm repairing my gloves around every 50K xp.

If you follow the math -since every successful looting is 84 1/3xp- you come out with 296.5 lootings every 15 mins, or just shy of 20 lootings/min with a knight free to roam across the market, and 593 lootings before you get caught enough to warrant repairing gloves (looking quite shabby and worse)

H.A.M. Members[edit source]

Does anyone know if using the Ardougne Cloak 3 when pickpocketing H.A.M. Members causes less failure than wearing the H.A.M. outfit? Seeing as you can't wear both. Egdcltd 18:35, July 25, 2011 (UTC)
