Ice Barrage[edit source]

yesterday I went and fought Agoroth using Ice Barrage, and did little to no damage.

when with I switched spellbooks and used Water Surge, I hit high amounts (2k+) and killed with ease.

Ice Barrage seemed to do less damage and miss more than Water Surge.

has anyone else noticed this? -- Seren symbol.pngHeavyoak Talk Zaros symbol.png 07:43, May 13, 2014 (UTC)

Rewards[edit source]

Has anyone gathered data on how the coin reward scales? I know the black pearls are said to be equivalent to medium stars, maybe we should include that XP formula on this page. -zanash

I don't think coin rewards scale or in any case do so appropriately. For example the user below comment he is 1500 total level and got 40k+ coins when choosing the coins (a friend of mine got 41,290 at max level). For my case I will out of curiosity check at weekly reset (on my interface being comp it has always shown me 25,078 coins). In my consideration the monetary reward doesn't have a factor on what to scale (after all its just one difficulty), it might as well be a bug. --Luis12345lts (talk) 00:03, March 26, 2018 (UTC)

Rewards and combat[edit source]

I'm not sure, but I think the coin reward is double the amount of xp the black pearl would give, not the amount stated there now. I get around 40k+ with a total skill level of above 1500. Also, when fighting Agaroth again after the quest, he stops his water jet attack before half his health has depleted (maybe a third?), and his slime attack has two phases; one in which he floods two out of four parts of the deck, the other where he floods foour or five out of nine parts of the deck. The last one can be avoided by standing next to him beneath one of his claws, his normal attacks can reach you and you can attack him, but his slime doesn't land there. I think he has the same mechanics in the first fight during the quest as well, but I can't remember. I also noticed that when his health gets below the treshold that makes him start his slime attack while he's spitting water onto the deck that he seems to stop spitting any water, but that the attack still goes on (so it's invisible!) and players still should move to the other half of the deck to avoid getting hit. Do you remember exactly or more accurately the number of coins you received? From what I have heard some accounts may have the correct description on the bonus XP received from the pearl and also the coins. Mine was displayed exactly like the one in the comments [1]. A friend of mine was something like the one if video [2]. As I placed in the trivia it is clearly a visual glitch, though I need to check on next time what I get when choosing the monetary reward. --Luis12345lts (talk) 23:55, March 25, 2018 (UTC)
I'll see how much money and bonus xp I can get wednesday after killing him again. The Green Butterfly (talk) 19:37, March 26, 2018 (UTC)
This is what I can choose between: black pearl that can give up to 20,645 bonus xp (the maximum of a medium prismatic star) or 41,290 coins (which is two times 20,645). I think the black pearl is just a medium prismatic star and the maximum xp that can be received is the xp you would get if you used it on your highest skill. My highest is a 99, so I can get up to 20,645 xp if I use it on that skill, but other skills that are lower probably get lower xp. It just states the maximum amount of bonus xp you can receive from it, but the real amount depends on the level of the skill you're using it for.
It seems that the highest amount of money you can get is defined by your highest skill and cannot get higher than 41,290 coins. The Green Butterfly (talk) 19:15, March 28, 2018 (UTC)
For the black pearl I think excluding visual glitches, it is fair for everyone that it gives based on level capped up to 99 (would need to check later the case of slayer and dungeon since they are physical at 120 to see if it allows for non-virtual skills 100+). It would make sense for the coins if it did follow based on level, however I have all skills maxed and for me it gave me 25,078 coins. --Luis12345lts (talk) 20:27, March 28, 2018 (UTC)
Maybe the difference is that I'm a free player and you're a member? You can kill Agaroth twice, so you would get 50,156 coins a week if you choose the cash twice, I "only" get 40,290. We should ask more players how much cash they can get depending on their highest level and f2p/p2p (maybe the RS forums?).The Green Butterfly (talk) 20:07, March 28, 2018 (UTC)
That would make sense if it was implemented restricting by membership status though a friend of me she got twice 41,290 gp similar as the video I mentioned earlier on the talk. I think RS forums would be a good idea though I don't know how many people are interested in possibly getting the bug fixed (as right now I would classify it as so). If not many it would rapidly go down the lines of forums. --Luis12345lts (talk) 20:27, March 28, 2018 (UTC)
I made a thread in the General Forum asking about sopme stuff the Wikia needs, including this, but not a lot of info has been received yet. Maybe in-time we'll get the info we need. The Green Butterfly (talk) 14:12, April 22, 2018 (UTC)
