Friends chat[edit source]

can someone open frend chat for this event... so we can ask for locations when they are updated :)

Oh we could but as per RS:PLAYER we wouldn't be able to mention it. Try the RuneScape forums What I've done Ciphrius Kane Talk 16:37, October 24, 2012 (UTC)

History Log[edit source]

Will there be a history log on this page, stating the prior locations? I remember seeing some sort of "archive" on another event page, stating the locations of places as they occurred. It would be nice to do so for historical purposes. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 00:32, October 25, 2012 (UTC)

2012 Easter event, with the chocatrice and the evil chicken?  a proofreader ▸  00:37, October 25, 2012 (UTC)
Yes, that's it... Anyways, I think the other RS users will do that as well, so my worries are unfounded ^^. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 00:58, October 25, 2012 (UTC)
The log of past waves proved to be useless, so there isn't much point in keeping a log this time. Past waves can be found in the history anyway What I've done Ciphrius Kane Talk 01:01, October 25, 2012 (UTC)

A log of waves may be useless, but as the points where they spawn are the same a list of available spawns could be kept for easily finding the location during the wave. --Goodison Goomba (talk) 07:43, October 25, 2012 (UTC)

Semi-protection[edit source]

Is there any way to prevent al the damage done to this page every 10 secs? something like registered user only edits? I'm seeing haidro patrolling the page for now but I feel sorry for him to do it all alone...

Juppie WH (talk) 07:55, October 25, 2012 (UTC)

We can semi-protect the page so unregistered users can not edit the page, but I don't think we should do this as some edits are constructive, and we depend on the anons to update the locations. Agree for semi-protect - This page is being vandalizing by some unregistered users. Explore and enjoy the world! TIMMMO Work it with all my heart!++Discuss Sign 18:04, October 26, 2012 (UTC)
Disagree for semi-protect - More unregistered users are helping than hindering, and those who hinder can be dealt with using temporary blocks.  a proofreader ▸  18:33, October 26, 2012 (UTC)

Question[edit source]

Al Kharid is not pay to play in this event is it? - Rhaokiel (talk) 08:21, October 25, 2012 (UTC)

Redirect[edit source]

Shouldn't this be redirected to the Easter 2012 event? 10:40, November 3, 2012 (UTC)

Definitely not. Every holiday event will have its own page, so as this one. Besides, the event is only similar to the Easter holiday one, but the theme is different (Ghost vs Easter eggs). Explore and enjoy the world! TIMMMO Work it with all my heart!++Discuss Sign 11:00, November 3, 2012 (UTC)

Short Event[edit source]

I lost power for a week because of the stupid hurricane and now I have like 3/5 of the outfit--something I hate. Is it just me or was this event much shorter than the Easter one? It seemed like that one lasted months.

Jagex controversy[edit source]

Jagex Controversy What's the point of including this page in the category Jagex controversies if you are going to censor any mention of the controversy?

What controversy?

N1ghtshade3 (talk) 18:21, November 6, 2012 (UTC)

There was an extended and extremely hostile response to this event that persisted until after the event had ended. It seems somewhat odd that there is no mention of it, given that the event itself is included in the category of Jagex Controversies.
The unifying theme of the various controversies was that Jagex had put monetizing the holiday over providing a proper holiday event for the players, with many asserting that they had put together a shoddy event precisely to make the holiday microtransactions more attractive. The complaints about the event can broadly be broken into 2 categories: lack of effort put into the event itself and complaints about the rewards.
One focus was the lack of effort put into the event, which was far below the standard set by Halloween events from past years. The event was essentially a reskinned version of the Easter "event", which itself was far below the quality of Easter events from previous years. This lack of effort appears difficult to square with their claims that their development staff had been doubled and that development resources were not being diverted to support the paid options.
The second focus of controversy was the Halloween event rewards, and was related to several changes in practice from previous years. First, the main reward given by the Halloween event (the robe set) was not Halloween themed, as had always been the case previously, which added to the perception that this was not a real Halloween event at all. Second, they were of much lower quality than the many items that were Halloween themed, but which required real world money to acquire (e.g., Scarecrow mask that required a game card purchase, Solomon's promotions, and a rare mask on SoF that most players could not hope to get without buying spins), leading players to accuse Jagex of making them buy their own Halloween treats. Also, there was an additional functional item awarded to members, when holiday rewards had always been cosmetic in the past. It was adding insult to injury for the ftp players that not only were they excluded from most of the cosmetic rewards, such as they were, but that the first functional holiday reward was also restricted to members. Finally, for the first time in several years, there was no Halloween emote given as a reward. A mod's ill-chosen explanation that it just wasn't in the budget only fueled the fire.
