The superior dragon claw is a dragon claw that has been upgraded with a Wilderness hilt, turning into a tier 70 weapon instead of 60. The upgrade process is irreversible, and it cannot be traded or disassembled. It retains the special attack of the base weapon when both the main hand and off-hand superior versions are equipped. Upon death in the Wilderness, the original base weapon will be destroyed and the Wilderness hilt will be dropped.
The superior dragon claws' special attack.
The superior dragon claw has a special attack, Slice & Dice. The special attack hits the target up to four times and uses 50% adrenaline, dealing between 184-600% ability damage in total. The first hit deals between 92-300% damage, with the second hit dealing between 46-150% of the first hit, with the final two hits dealing 23-75% each. The value of the first hit determines what values the follow-up hits will deal. The closer the first hit is to the maximum will lower the percentage used to calculate the second, third, and fourth hits, or vice versa. This means hits 2-4 could have a critical strike even if the first hit does not hit high, although, it is very unlikely.
Dragon claws have a unique property of re-rolling hits. Should the value of the first hit be below a certain percentage of ability damage, the second hit will ignore its value and roll for 100% damage, with the final hits rounding based off the second hit value. Should the first hit miss, the second hit will roll for 92-300% damage instead, and if any two of the four hits should miss, two more additional hits will be rolled at the end of the special attacks sequence to compensate.
The special attack requires having both the main hand and off-hand variants equipped.
As of 28 November 2022's patch the special attack deals increased damage (184-600% total ability damage, up from 176-400%) and is no longer a channeled ability. The animation stall has also been removed.
