Steam is a platform which RuneScape is available on since October 14 2020. The Steam version of the game uses the same client as the non-Steam PC version, the NXT client, but features various integrations with Steam social features.

Differences to non-Steam PC version[edit | edit source]

The Steam version of the game features these differences from the non-Steam version (available through the RuneScape website):

  • Integration with Steam achievements, trading cards, and badges which are earned through playing the game
  • Account linking/detection through Steam

Character progression carries over between all platforms that RuneScape is available on, as do in-game purchases such as bonds, Treasure Hunter keys, and cosmetics bought in the Solomon's General Store. When purchasing in-game items through Steam, players can use their Steam wallet funds.

Downloadable content[edit | edit source]

On Steam platform there are three sets of downloadable content available for purchase. The digital version of RuneScape: The Orchestral Collection is also listed, but not available for purchase directly outside the packs listed below.
