The Smoke Dungeon is a series of winding tunnels located underneath the Kharidian Desert. The dungeon can be entered through a smoky well located west of Pollnivneach and south of Tumeken's remnant. It is home to various fire-based monsters. The air in the dungeon is filled with smoke which will damage exposed players for 200 life points every 12 seconds, so protection such as a face mask, gas mask, Slayer helmet or Mask of Dust must be worn.

Getting there[edit | edit source]

The Smoke Dungeon is located west of Pollnivneach

The dungeon can only be accessed after enchanting the mystical mirrors during Desert Treasure. It can be reached by heading directly east from the mystical mirrors, which surround the Desert Bandit Camp lodestone. Alternately, it can be reached by heading west of Pollnivneach.

It can also be reached from the Pollnivneach Slayer Dungeon by travelling through the dark stairs. The dark stairs are located in the south-east corner of the Smoke Dungeon side and directly west of the entrance in the Pollnivneach Slayer Dungeon side. In order to use the dark hole, it must first be used from the Pollnivneach Slayer Dungeon side. The player will refuse to enter from the Smoke Dungeon side first as they do not know where it leads.

Monsters[edit | edit source]

The Smoke Dungeon is home to four fire-based monsters.

This is the only place where the dwarf multicannon can be used against dust devils, as the only other place the dust devils are found, the Chaos Tunnels, prevents the use of cannons.

The dungeon is also home to Fareed, the Warrior of Smoke. He guards the smoke diamond and must be defeated during Desert Treasure. In order to access Fareed, the player must light all four standing torches. This will unlock the burnt chest which holds the warm key, which can then be used to unlock the gate and awaken Fareed. Upon defeating him, the smoke diamond is automatically placed in the player's inventory.
