Slayer Masters are masters of the Slayer skill who offer slayer assignments to players. Slayer Masters differ in the difficulty and number of monsters they assign, as well as the number of slayer points they offer. All standard Slayer Masters also sell Slayer equipment, which are required when killing various slayer monsters.

After completion of Smoking Kills, the completion of tasks from a standard Slayer Master starting after the fourth completed in a row will grant double Slayer points, excluding tasks assigned by Turael or Spria. If the quest has not been completed, the amount of points received will be half, rounded down.

Each Slayer Master takes in a disciple of their own and teaches them the art of slaying. This is also to ensure that if the master is preoccupied or killed, the disciple can give assignments in their place. Turael, Mazchna and Duradel appointed Spria, Achtryn and Lapalok respectively to their positions, with Spria and Lapalok taking over permanently when their masters are killed by Lucien. It is also possible for disciples to become masters in their own right, such as Laniakea, who trained under Morvran and Kuradal.

History[edit | edit source]

Slayer Masters are members the Order of the Slayer Masters, a group dedicated to the eradication of dangerous beasts. Following the death of Tumeken, life in the Kharidian Desert became harsher due to a lack of leadership and an increase of monsters in the area. Amascut, in one of her various disguises, gathered eight men and woman, including Catolax and Faiza and founded the Order, learning how to defeat the monsters and embarking to protect the settlements of the desert. The Order played a key role in defeating a demon invasion at Uzer, working alongside golems and priests to repel the demons and seal the portal to their dimension.

Catolax, while investigating an unusually large banshee in Pollnivneach, came across a machine that was absorbing monster souls, acting as fuel for Amascut. Realising what was happening, Catolax sent word to the others. They made plans to leave the desert and spread the knowledge of Slayer, unable to face Amascut's strength. It is unknown how many of their members managed to escape, only that Amascut slew Catolax and Faiza, but given the numerous Slayer Masters found across Gielinor today their plan was successful.

Their history is written on the various murals within the Sunken Pyramid.

Standard Slayer Masters[edit | edit source]

Turael/Spria[edit | edit source]

Turael chathead.png
The location of Turael/Spria.

Turael is the easiest Slayer Master, found north of Burthorpe bank. He has no minimum combat or Slayer level requirements before players may receive assignments. His daughter, Spria, succeeds him after the events of While Guthix Sleeps.

If a player receives an assignment they do not wish to do, both Turael and Spria may give an easier assignment if the player talks to them. This always works if the assignment is for a creature that isn't assigned by them, and will also work if the player is on a special Slayer challenge. Normally, Turael and Spria will not reassign a task if they can assign that creature themselves. For example, if Duradel assigned a player Desert lizards, then Turael/Spria may not change the task, as they too assign Desert lizards. However, if the number of creatures to be slain is far greater than what he would assign, it is possible that he will change the task. For example, if Duradel assigned 140+ Kalphites, then Turael/Spria will change this, as they would not assign that many to kill. In this case, Turael/Spria will give a new assignment, a new creature to slay or fewer of the same creature. It is possible to receive the same monster. It is impossible for a player to get Turael/Spria to reassign a task that they gave out.

Slayer points[edit | edit source]

Completion of a task assigned by Turael/Spria will not grant any Slayer points nor will they count towards increasing the task total; replacing the task will actually reset the task total, but obtaining a new task while not assigned one by another Slayer Master will not.

Co-op Slayer points[edit | edit source]

Completion of a Social Slayer task assigned by Turael/Spria grants a co-op Slayer point.

Mazchna/Achtryn[edit | edit source]

Completion of a task assigned by Mazchna or Achtryn after completion of Smoking Kills grants:

  • 2 Slayer points per normal task

Completion of a task assigned by Chaeldar after completion of Smoking Kills grants:

  • 10 Slayer points per normal task

Instead, enter the fishing shop south of the river, climb the ladder there, and cross the bridge to get to them. The fastest ways to reach Shilo Village are to use:

Completion of a task assigned by Duradel/Lapalok after completion of Smoking Kills grants:

As he is located in Prifddinas, completion of the grandmaster quest Plague's End is also a requirement for him.

The monsters he assigns as tasks consist of various popularly killed monsters assigned by Kuradal. He can be found in the Iorwerth district, southwest of the Prifddinas lodestone.

These reward Reaper points, which increase or decrease in quantity depending upon several factors, such as the assignment, whether extended and/or group tasks are toggled, and the number of rerolls done. He assigns one task per day, but if "Additional Tasks" is purchased he can be paid 250 Slayer points to assign a new Soul Reaper task. The Raptor chathead.png

The Raptor briefly became a Slayer Master for the month of November 2015. During this time, he assigned players one task per day, which was counted separately from normal Slayer assignments. He had his own gem which could be used to contact him. Once the month was over, he moved on, finding being a Slayer Master boring.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • One of the possible City Quests involves a random Menaphos citizen temporarily becoming a Slayer Master, assigning three random tasks. They may occasionally award Slayer points for completing their tasks, though their tasks do not affect a player's task streak.
