Shadow components are rare materials used in the Invention skill. Level 89 Invention is required to discover them at an Inventor's workbench and use them in a gizmo; however, this level is not required to obtain them. The blueprints to research them are unlocked after earning 2,500 Sliskean reputation in the Heart of Gielinor.
The cost per Shadow component is 5,464,507 if the most cost-effective method is used.
Sliske Reputation Rewards, which displays the Sliskean reputation that players have obtained
Before players can use Shadow components, they must be first unlocked and then discovered at an invention workbench.
The steps to unlock these components are:
- Gain 2,500 Sliskean reputation at the Heart of Gielinor (God Wars Dungeon 2).
- Kill Helwyr, Vindicta or The Twin Furies to obtain seals and hand them in to the Gregorovic's Chosen.
It would take 500 boss kills to obtain the required reputation.
- Complete daily bounties at the Feng, the Bounty Master. (select 'Fight for Sliske')
It would take 16 days to obtain the required reputation, as one bounty is added per day.
Players can complete multiple bounties on a single trip.
Using Corruption Shot or Corruption Blast on the warring faction mobs are the fastest way to obtain kills and complete bounties.
- The methods can be combined by getting bounties and killing the corresponding general. Each boss kill awards 25 kills of bounty progress.
- Reach at least Level 89 Invention
- Go to an invention workbench and discover Shadow components
- Disassembling Sliskean armour or weapons will now obtain Shadow components

- Convert the item into a Refined anima core legs of Sliske by adding 2 of each essence
- Take the refined armour to an invention workbench and augment it with divine charges (you can optionally add perks on it if you have spare gizmos)
- Use the refined legs in combat until it reaches level 9 (killing Dark beasts or Abyssal demons provides the highest Item XP rates per hour)
- Disassemble the refined legs, returning the original Anima core legs of Sliske armour piece and granting you 4 x Shadow components as a byproduct.
- The regular legs can be then sold back on the grand exchange refunding its cost
