Scrimshaw of sacrifice detail.png

The scrimshaw of sacrifice is a pocket slot item. It is obtained in inactive form from the loot crates awarded upon killing the Giant Mimic, or from the Motherlode Maw.

While the scrimshaw is active, the player receives 50% extra combat experience when killing monsters, in addition to 50% extra Slayer experience when killing monsters on a slayer assignment. Augmented items' XP will NOT receive the 50% boost. The experience from this scrimshaw is not directly affected by bonus experience; however, bonus experience will be earned in addition to the bonus experience from the scrimshaw.

In exchange for this bonus, no drops are received with the exception of secondary drops such as charms, spirit gems, crystal triskelion fragments, clue scrolls and ferocious rings. It will also allow for Wilderness drop table items to be received. Ushabtis will still capture souls. Drops that are destroyed by the scrimshaw still count towards the slayer log. Since bone drops are destroyed, the bonecrusher provides no experience and the demon horn, split dragontooth and twisted bird skull necklace will not restore prayer points.

Each scrimshaw of sacrifice will last for one hour of activation before crumbling to dust. The scrimshaw can be upgraded to a superior version that lasts for 4 hours using 10 ancient bones at the Scrimshaw Crafter, once the ability to do so is purchased from the Elite Dungeon Reward Shop for 250,000 Dungeoneering tokens.

Like all scrimshaw, partially used scrimshaw of sacrifice can be combined to sum the time remaining (to a maximum of 15 hours, adding 1 hour per unused scrimshaw used on another, or with multiple in inventory).

The inactive scrimshaw may be combined with a scrimshaw of aggression (inactive) to form a scrimshaw of corruption (inactive).

The item was originally obtained from Treasure Hunter for a limited time during the corrupted chests promotion, and later made available again from 18 February 2016 to 22 February 2016 and 17 November 2016 to 21 November 2016, during the 'The Mimic Rises' and 'Revenge of the Giant Mimic' Treasure Hunter promotions, as a potential reward from large and huge loot crates. On 4 September 2017, the scrimshaw was also made obtainable from the Motherlode Maw, and availability was further extended as a reward from Giant Mimic when the boss returned permanently on 5 February 2018.

During Double XP Live events, bonus experience for slayer experience is not provided by this scrimshaw; only combat experience gain is increased to 250%.
