Sap Curses

Sap Curses are prayers from the Ancient Curses prayer book. Players must complete the Temple at Senntisten quest to access these prayers. Once completed, players can switch to the Ancient Curses prayer book by praying at the Altar of Zaros in the Zarosian temple beneath the Varrock Dig Site.

Curse Level needed Effect
Sap Warrior.png Sap Warrior 50 Drains enemy Attack by 2 levels, increasing to 6 over time.
Sap Ranger.png Sap Ranger 52 Drains enemy Ranged by 2 levels when determining hit chance, increasing to 6 over time.
Sap Range Strength.png Sap Range Strength 53 Drains enemy Ranged damage by 3%, increasing to 9% over time.
(Reduced to 2% to 6% in PvP)
Sap Mage.png Sap Mage 54 Drains enemy Magic by 2 levels when determining hit chance, increasing to 6 over time.
Sap Magic Strength.png Sap Magic Strength 55 Drains enemy Magic damage by 3%, increasing to 9% over time.
(Reduced to 2% to 6% in PvP)
Sap Spirit.png Sap Spirit 56 Drains enemy adrenaline.
Sap Defence.png Sap Defence 57 Drains enemy Defence by 2 levels, increasing to 6 over time.
Sap Strength.png Sap Strength 58 Drains enemy Melee damage by 3%, increasing to 9% over time.

  • patch 17 May 2021 (Update):
    • Players no longer become cursed after upgrading their membership and logging into RuneScape. (New players will no longer get a "The sap or leech curses currently affecting your stats reduce a little" message on their second login into a members world.)
  • ninja 31 July 2017 (Update):
    • The Sap and Leech curses now give animated feedback.
  • patch 20 April 2015 (Update):
    • The accuracy and defence debuffs of Sap, Leech, Turmoil, Anguish and Torment have been made stronger.
