The Sandy Clue Scroll is a special clue scroll made for the 2018 Summer Beach Party. They returned for the 2020 and 2021 Summer Beach party. They are given by Reyna until all of the current trails have been completed. One more trail becomes available each day of the event.
Having scrolls left to claim after claiming some yields the following message upon logging in: You have outstanding sandy clue scrolls to complete! Head to the Summer Beach Party in Lumbridge and speak to Reyna to take part!
Completing the Sandy Clue Scroll gives the player either a Sandy Scroll box containing another scroll, or a Sandy Casket and red version. Solving the fifth clue always rewards the caskets.
Right-clicking on a Sandy Clue Scroll will include an option to "Dig" when the clue involves digging into the ground.
The clue scroll may be destroyed and re-obtained from Reyna at no cost. This re-rolls the clue scroll without using up a daily trail, so re-obtaining scrolls when an undesirable clue is obtained is an effective strategy to complete the trails quickly without penalties.
It is possible for free players to obtain treasure trail items in sandy clues. Treasure trail rewards obtained from this also counts towards the Treasure Trail collection log. One strategy to quickly complete clues is to do so on a free world. As free players do not get members clues, this makes the player more likely to obtain a clue that does not require them to leave the area. However, be sure to open the caskets on a members server if possible because free users will only get up to two items.
Additionally, if stockpiling caskets, make sure to leave at least five inventory spaces, as up to six rewards can be obtained. Otherwise, the player will be unable to open them without destroying excess caskets.[1] If at least one free inventory space is available, then some caskets can be opened on a free-to-play world.
