RuneScape toolbar was removed after an update.
The contents of this page no longer exist in RuneScape, and this article is kept for historical purposes.

The RuneScape toolbar is located at the top of every player's Java applet. It can only be seen when in the RuneScape Lobby or in-game; it is not visible on the Main Menu. Members have the options Home, Support, Forums and Clans. Non-members have the options Home, Support, Forums, and Subscribe. The bar can be toggled on or off by members through "Navigation bar" in Custom Graphics Options.

An older version of the toolbar had a website Search box and a link to the Jagex website.

Home[edit | edit source]

Opens the RuneScape homepage in a new tab or window. Selecting this link formerly closed the applet and opened the homepage.

Support[edit | edit source]

Opens the RuneScape Support Centre in a new tab or window.

Forums[edit | edit source]

Opens the RuneScape Forums main page in a new tab or window.

Clans[edit | edit source]

Opens the RuneScape Clans landing page in a new tab or window.

Subscribe[edit | edit source]

Logs the player out and displays a Membership payment screen in the same tab or window. Payment method, package type, and country can chosen. Clicking 'Continue' opens a popup window that directs to the secure billing website. In the game applet, players have the single option of returning to the server they left.

Update history[edit | edit source]

This information has been compiled as part of the update history project. Some updates may not be included - see here for how to help out!
  • patch 27 May 2014 (Update):
    • Toolbar icons should no longer disappear when moused over in HTML5.
  • patch 28 August 2012 (Update):
    • The in-game navigation bar will now remember the hidden setting more reliably.
    • The "Subscribe" button will no longer appear for members on the navigation bar.
  • patch 11 July 2012 (Update):
    • The top navigation bar will now open the "subscribe" link inside the game applet rather than loading up a new webpage (with a compatible browser).
  • update 15 October 2008 (Update):
    • Unsigned mode is automatic.
      • The ‘unsigned’ option has been removed from the Java options menu. The unsigned applet can still be accessed if needed. The selection process for it is now automatic. If the game cannot load in signed mode (either because you didn’t grant it permission, or your security settings do not allow you to grant it permission) it will fall back to the unsigned version.
