I suggest we put the link to the page on the top, because everybody has to scroll down to get the link. =/-- talk 00:59, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Recover lost password?[edit source]

Is there a command to recover a lost password through the email? I tried to log back into the chat but it won't let me! Bassium!

There's a certain code you have to do, I forgot what it was... White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 21:16, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Policy on channel operators being opped[edit source]

Authorized users (chanops who have registered with NickServ and have been added to the access list at level 5 or higher) can give themselves op access using the "/cs op #wikia-runescape" command... This should only be done when you need to make use of an administrative command, and should be undone with "/mode #wikia-runescape -o your nick" when this is complete.

Is there any particular reason why we require channel operators to remain de-opped until they need to perform an operator action? The policy page only puts forth what I've quoted above, without reasoning for the rule. Compare this to use of the +O flag, which would automatically op a user when they entered the channel. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 05:29, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

I believe the only reason why is because freenode ask us to:
We strongly suggest that you avoid configuring your channel to "auto-op". Use the chanserv "op" command to obtain channel operator status only when needed. This will help to keep your channel temperature low and reduce conflicts.
Using the Network - Channel access management (flags)
Otherwise no reason, I guess. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 14:20, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

Voice[edit source]

How come we don't assign +v (voice) to certain users, like rollback/custodian users? --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 05:29, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

As we don't have the channel moderated so there's no need to. I don't know why RuneScript is voiced, I've just upheld it. We could do it I suppose. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 14:20, February 6, 2011 (UTC)

Impersonating other users[edit source]

No impersonating another user! No exceptions.

I would like some clarification on this. Is this a zero-tolerance policy that channel operators are expected to enforce each and every time they see someone's nick change to a nick similar to another's? I just saw sentra and brains change their nicks to make fun of each other, with both present in the channel, and I have doubts that that sort of situation is what this rule was created to govern. In my estimation, we have this rule to keep people from joining under a nickname like liii_I_I_I and pretending to be User:Iiii_I_I_I. Actually passing themselves off as another. Common sense would dictate this to be so, but the "No exceptions" part throws me off because, again, it implies that this is a zero-tolerance policy. Can I have some other people weigh in on this, please? --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 08:04, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Yeh remove the zero tolerance stance. Andorin 08:07, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
Remove zero-tolerance. And add something that disallows impersonating for "malicious purposes". 222 talk 08:09, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

Alright, I'm adjusting the wording. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 02:59, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

Vandalizing Conservapedia[edit source]

On multiple occasions I have had to warn other users in IRC that talking about vandalizing Conservapedia in our IRC channel is not allowed. How long until I start kicking people for it? --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 21:47, September 3, 2011 (UTC)

Moving from Freenode to Libera?[edit source]

Recently there was some issues with Freenode which has the upshot of the entire administration team leaving and creating a new network. Will this channel be moving with all the other projects and communities that are?

Also, if wanted I can make/run the channel if no one else is willing to
