Zamorak GWD[edit source]

So we've got the basics for the event down, now for the hardest bit. The time. Suggestions?   Swizz Talk   Events!   18:33, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

I suggest 20:00/21:00 UTC, as in aussieland its morning then, and in Europe its evening then. The fewest amount of people live in Asia, so making it accessible for Europeans, Americans and Aussies is imo the best. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 18:39, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
2000 or 2100 are usually the best times for most people. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 18:51, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
I'd prefer something like 18:00 UTC bad_fetustalk 19:03, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
1800 or 1900 works as well. (; sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 19:06, January 6, 2011 (UTC

- That sound good to everyone? This needs to be a quick decision so we can move on to advertising the event. The community wants quick, hassle free events? That's what we'll give em.

So, something like 2 events per week is what was asked. That means we can't do Wikifest-esq whose coming sign-ups. We need to advertise it and hope to hell that people come. This Saturday night is probably the best time for this, we can't really wait a whole week. If you guys agree on Saturday 19:00 UTC we can start advertising on the sitenotice, maybe every now and then in the cc just mention it. In future we can think about a space on the main page for events too. - [Pharos] iPhone Edit 19:26, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, but not January 6th. ;P sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 20:01, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure about 2 events a week but I agree we should get on with this. The times are great for me, and you which means most Australians too. Perhaps this Saturday (8th) would be good however this might not be enough time to get the word across, what do you think guys?   Swizz Talk   Events!   20:19, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
That's way too soon imo. People need time to prepare, move around their schedules, and actually see the message. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 20:21, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
I still think we can draw in the crowds in just a few days but oh well. Other then Saturday we could do Sunday, but if that's soon as well the next time we'd have to organise this for is next weekend, I doubt we'll be able to draw people in on a school day though, especially the Australians/Americans on the suggested times.   Swizz Talk   Events!   20:55, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Sigh as always, I can never attend events. Santa hat.png Powers38 おはようヾ(´・ω・`) 02:13, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Bringing a BoB[edit source]

Erm, if my memory (and friends who I asked) serve me correctly, bringing a Bob or attacking familiar = boss changing targets. There's an entire section on bringing a Bob at the bottom of the article... Am I right or not..? sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 20:01, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

That only applies to Graardor. K'ril doesn't switch targets unless his current target leaves the room (death, teleport, forced logout). Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 20:26, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Question[edit source]

Shouldn't all the talk about specific events go on the event page itself? It seems to me that this talk page should only be about the events teams. Either way, who is planning to tank at ZGWD? (wszx) 20:33, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

That's what I thought, but I didn't make it so meh. (: The tankers are listed on the article... Gaz Lloyd and/or Raging Bull. sssSp7p.pngIjLCqFF.png 20:35, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Armour Question[edit source]

Just to be clear, how would a fighter torso do here? Or do I need a dharoks/torags/guthans etc platebody? And while Im at it, what other rings options are there?  Golden warpriest of Zamorak helm.png Wingcap Firemaking master cape.png 14:37, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

A torso will do just fine. Even something as cheap as a rune pl8 would do for defence. As a non-tanker you should be taking a minuscule amount of damage from the 3 sergeants. A torso also provides a str bonus which is always welcome.
As far a rings go. You could go with a ring of life for safety, berserk/warrior for damage/accuracy, an upgraded ring from mobilizing armies provides decent stats and an explorer's ring has a small prayer bonus. A ring of wealth won't affect drops when using Lootshare.- [Pharos] 14:55, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
Cheers Pharos, but another question springs to mind: Korasi's sword or whip?  Golden warpriest of Zamorak helm.png Wingcap Firemaking master cape.png 15:28, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
The whip is better. For a spec weapon, bring Korasi's for damage or Darklight to reduce K'ril's defence. If you happen to have an Enhanced excalibur bring that and you can replace some of your food with more stat-boosting potions or prayer potions. - [Pharos] 15:38, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
Right, Thank you, and cheers again,  Golden warpriest of Zamorak helm.png Wingcap Firemaking master cape.png 15:43, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
No probs, glad to know you're coming ;) - [Pharos] 15:48, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

BoB[edit source]

I do not quite understand how to put a war tortoise (with items) inside another war tortoise >_>. Farming cape (t).png Lil cloud 9 Talk 16:21, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

A tortoise pouch so you can renew the familiar when the timer runs out and it'll still be holding your items. The section header means that is the setup to use when you have access to that familiar - [Pharos] 16:36, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Attack styles[edit source]

Should I use melee or range? Melee stats: 75 attack, strength and defence. Range level: 85. Also 82 hp and 71 pray if those matter. Thanks! Full slayer helmet.png Axela40 Slayer-icon.png 19:07, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Melee would probably be a stronger bet.   Swizz Talk   Events!   19:15, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
Also, It's weak to stab so bringing a rapier or a good stab weapon would mean eaassyyyy kills.   Swizz Talk   Events!   19:17, January 7, 2011 (UTC)
Melee is much less messy but Ranged isnt bad. If you take ranged id recommend you bring some ruby(e)s for the first half of the fight as well as a bit more food. Id say Broad bolts for regular ammo though. - [Pharos] 19:18, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Wait a minute...[edit source]

Are we actually making legitimate use of a page in the RuneScape talk namespace? OMG! The only talk namespaces that are used remotely commonly are User talk and Talk. RuneScape talk was supposed to be one of the useless throwaway namespaces like Charm talk or Exchange talk or Forum talk. --LiquidTalk 22:47, January 7, 2011 (UTC)

Forum talk: is my personal favourite namespace, per meme implications. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 00:32, January 8, 2011 (UTC)
cos we're awesome like that.   Swizz Talk   Events!   10:40, January 8, 2011 (UTC)
