This image doesn't really show anything useful. Its just someone attacking with a Rune Scimitar, and that action itself is not enough to warrant an animation. Furthermore the image is quite low-quality containing excessive GIF dither, and its rather jumpy. All in all its just not a good image to have on the wiki. kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 16:39, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Ardal

Ardal is not an NPC, it is non-interactive scenery, for the following reasons:

 • The only thing players can do with it is to examine it
 • It does not appear on the minimap at all (NPCs appear as a yellow blip)
 • Its name appears in pale blue text at the top-left corner of the screen when you point to it

All of these properties make it a non-interactive scenery item. The only thing that implies it might be considered an NPC is the fact that it is human-shaped - but this is not enough in my opinion. The only notable thing to say about it is that its name is a reference to Father Ted (along with the other two, Frank and Dermot), which is easily covered in The Poison Arrow article. As per RuneScape:Granularity (which says "the only two major exceptions are player articles and non-interactive scenery"), I say none of these three needs its own article. Leevclarke talk Max_logo_mini.png bulldog_puppy.png 17:34, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Keep - The fact that he is technically non-interactive scenery is irrelevant, because Martina Scorsby is exactly the same in every way to Ardal, but is a yellow dot on the minimap and has a yellow name. If anything, this is proof that the granularity policy need to be updated to allow non-interactive scenery if it is a living thing. This is because it is a recent trend for Jagex to make NPCs that don't say or do anything interesting into non-interactive scenery, such as the Music appreciators, which are themselves non-interactive scenery, but have a tiny "dummy" NPC called "Invisible" inside their heads that makes them show up as a yellow dot on the minimap. Ordinarily I'd be fine with merging an NPC like Ardal into an article on the lack of notability, but this vote is about whether or not to merge it simply because its name is blue, and since that's the case, I vote keep. kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 19:07, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Keep - Ardal is, in some ways, programmed similarly to scenery. But I don't think how something is coded should be the primary point of decision in labeling it, because although he posesses some traits of scenery, the important thing about him is that he is a character and is presented to the player as such. Players don't look at a person in the same way as a chair or rock, and Jagex didn't put him in to be seen as scenery but as an NPC. This has been brought up many times before, and, as Psycho said, the granularity policy needs to be changed to reflect this. Quest.png Morian Smith Saradomin crozier.png 23:57, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Keep - As above. RSN: Warthog Rhys Talk Completionist's cape... Coming soon. 15:52, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Keep - It's a NPC, even if its very little shown, it still deserves a article and per above. Runecrafting.gif Mo 55 55 Talk|Sign 10:30, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Keep - I think even though he may be coded like scenery, he seems more like an NPC to me. I say we keep him. Remember we also allow articles for characters that don't even appear in the game. Air rune.png Tollerach hates SoF Fire rune.png 21:39, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Avarrocka quest series

It's not a quest series. There is no main storyline. Each quest is independent, and being based in the Varrock area does not make it a quest series. --Armadyl symbol.png Nightgunner Talk Illuminated Book of Law.png 21:29, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

File:DragonChainSet.gif|left

I think this image should be deleted because, first of all, its almost a duplicate of :File:Dragon Chainbody.gif. Some argue that its a matter of showing the different genders, but really the only difference is the length of the chain (its inexplicably shorter on females). Secondly, its out of date. The whip is the old model, not the current. Also its in standard detail. Finally, to top it off, its one of those useless equip screen animations and there's an amulet covering up the dragon insignia. Therefore, I say baleet.

The image's focus, both in the title and in the actual image, is on the players, not the actual vampyre. The only reason to keep it would be because it shows the vyrewatch, but we already have an image of one in an identical pose here

Neutral, leaning towards Keep - It shows players fighting a vyrewatch: it's not exactly the same as the other image. This might not be enough to keep the image, but I think this image is worth it (maybe the name needs to be changed though, but that's not necessary). Ancient talisman.png Oil4 Talk 16:34, September 23, 2009 (UTC)

Weak Delete I think this image should be deleted, but another image, or possibly an animation, should be uploaded. I think all unusual creatures should have a picture or animation showing them attacking, and the vyrewatch certainly qualifies as unusual. Rwojy 07:29, September 24, 2009 (UTC)

Smithing Iron

I think this article should be deleted because, firstly, its primary author, Cscooper, has abandoned it for nearly 6 months (his last edit was 29 May 2009) and its still largely incomplete, most noticeably the table. Also the title is "Smithing Iron" yet its all about smithing Steel. Its quite odd. Lastly, and most importantly, all the information can be, and in fact is, covered by the Free-to-play Smithing training and Smithing#Training for Members articles, except in a much more brief manner. The image is small, badly done on MS Paint and very low quality. It is only used in one article, which doesn't really need the image in the first place. Additionally, the circle is around some of the black area, and we don't know for sure that the Hallowed Lands extended that far in the first place.

Cheats and scams

Previous VfD

Im going to nominate this page once again for deletion as I believe it is outdated and could be used in a manor that is totally agianst the Runescape rules. 90% of the scams on the page are out dated and unusable and have no reason to still be used on this wiki. For the scams that are still possible today, they need to be removed as they could potentially be used by genuine scammers to break the Runescape rules.

Keep/rewrite to be current - While this isn't something I necessarily want to die for, I do think there is a place where we can keep players informed that there are cheats and scams that exist within the game... that they should beware of. BTW, I don't think scams are a thing of the past. Indeed I know that not to be true and have had folks, even recently, try to gain access to my account. One of the worst of the current scams is the Merchant Clan pyramid scam... talked about openly on the RSOF if you need sources. I could go into details on that one as well, as to how it is different from ordinary merch clans too. Does this article need to be re-written? Absolutely. And I don't think DarkRSWiki is doing the job to properly inform the members of our community about what potential scams that players should be avoiding. There is a role for a page like this. --Robert Horning 14:20, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
Comment - If that is your belief, It would need to be rewritten to keep a neutral POV and also needs to be in a much better format... Right now, it is based as a guide which wouldn't be found if I opened up any local Encyclopedia... RSN: Warthog Rhys Talk Completionist's cape... Coming soon. 17:59, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
If you are referring to the other on-line encyclopedia project, I think I can find articles there which have even more substantial NPOV problems than this particular article and are even being kept in the 1.0 project over there. A rewrite is not rationale for deletion unless the point is to completely nuke the article hoping that something new will take its place that is of much higher caliber. I've seen that happen in the past, but I've also seen somebody willing to simply dig in and overhaul an article of this nature to also have it work out.
What I don't want is the uncertainty of having the sword of deletion hanging over my head where even changes made in good faith to improve the article are also lost with all of the cruft you are complaining about. NPOV problems generally aren't justification for starting a VfD, although it is very useful to point out NPOV problems and try to offer solutions on how to improve things. More important, it is a sign that we need to be bold and fix things instead of complaining in committees. If it bugs you, fix it. Raising NPOV problems on the talk page and even posting an ugly message box at the top of the article that it may have NPOV issues is certainly reasonable. That still doesn't justify why it needs to be deleted, and that wouldn't be rational for deletion on the other encyclopedia you are referring to. --Robert Horning 19:08, October 5, 2009 (UTC)

Comment/Slit - Same as above, but keep recent scams in the main article. Many of these scams are from RS Classic or the VERY early days of RS2. These should get their own page. The ones in more recent memory should be kept on this page. --Constitution cape.png csoursTalkIdeas Quest point cape.png 05:28, October 8, 2009 (UTC)

Keep/No split - This article serves two important purposes. 1: Tells people about potential scams and what activity to be weary of. If we are really concerned about people using this information to commit scamming, we can put a disclaimer at the top. And, B: This project also shows the history of RS including certain social phenomenon such as drop parties, wilderness luring, and old scams are part of the history of RS. Also, I say we keep it as one article, so that we can easily move any old from a current list to a historical list within the same article. Air rune.png Tollerach hates SoF Fire rune.png 14:47, October 12, 2009 (UTC)

Rewrite - changed to rewrite. There needs to be two sections, current scams and historic scams. They should not be mixed togeter, but they don't need to be on seperate pages. kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 14:58, October 12, 2009 (UTC)

I remember how twice previously that it was decided that living non-interactive scenery should not be deleted in vfds (here and here) though this should still technically be deleted because the Granularity policy still says otherwise. I felt that it was best to host a VFD for this page, since it is the safest option. I am moot on the subject btw. Unicorn horn dust.png Evil Yanks talk 06:03, October 11, 2009 (UTC)

Leaning to keep - Here is a little more criteria (on my part): Is the NPC referenced anywhere else, such as a quest? Is there even a name involved? This is certainly a real fuzzy line here. The article could simply be tagged as a stub and "under construction", and certainly could be improved. If all that remains is this one line of text, I'd say delete, but consider that somebody else could come along and recreate this article with a screen shot and better prose to describe what is seen here. I don't have a problem with trying to push the wiki to the next level by describing these sorts of NPCs, but we should also have something that players would actually bother with reading as well. --Robert Horning 13:18, October 11, 2009 (UTC)

Keep - I've re-written the article, and while it's far from up to the Wiki's standards, I think it now contains enough information to justify its keeping. While the NPC appears simple on the surface, the history that led to his addition is actually somewhat interesting and has been added to the page. There is probably more that could be added, and an image/examine entry would definitely help to wrap the page up, but I think in its current state it's atleast passable. I think this page is unneccessary. It was never even finished, the {construction} tag's been on it forever, it's been rarely been updated since its creation to years ago, it doesn't provide any real use, the table, while sortable is just an eyesore, and List of quests exists, albeit without being sortable or having item requirements.

Leaning to Keep - At least I'm curious about what is going on here. Enough edits have happened to this article, together with several previous VfD curiously not mentioned here that it seems like some other issue is going on here. Additional references would be useful to at least explain what this rumor is all about. An attempt to sidestep the VfD process happened at RuneScape:Votes for deletion/Fake image/Archive 2, and there is a reference to another VfD that at the moment I can't find. Doing a quick google search also seems to find additional references to this item, at least adding "legitimacy" to the fact that this isn't confined to a rumor spread by this wiki alone. This is something more akin to the Sailing skill speculation.... faked as well, but something that is now simply a part of RS fan culture. --Robert Horning 19:30, October 10, 2009 (UTC)

P.S. RS:GRAN would indicate, to me, that this should be either deleted altogether or kept as a separate article and not merged into something else. Merge with Red partyhat - From what I can gather, the Red partyhat was mistaken for the non-existant Black partyhat. The non-existant Pink partyhat was merged with the Purple partyhat. It's only common sense to merge the non-existant item which was based on speculation from the existing item, thus deserving a say in the existing items' article. It doesn't deserve it's own. Because of this, I do not believe that this particular subject deserves an article until we know more.

 • Comment - You know what I'd like to see? (Of course you don't!) On Wikipedia, they have the map/locater thing in the infobox and then they type in the coordinates and it pinpoints the location. This would make finding various locations simplistic rather than having a map with a dot/circle for every article that describes a location. But I believe this may be hard, but hasn't the RS/Gielinor map already got coordinates? Cheers, Chicken7 >talk 05:43, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

This image is basically useless, because we already have an image of the location of Zaff's shop which I have placed on Zaff's page. This picture takes up more space and looks less professional. ~ Fire Surge icon.png Sentry Telos Talk  10:08, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

I like this shot better as it is easier to see where in varrok the shop is. The other pic doesn't have enough surrounding detail so it takes a second to figure it out. Best of all I think would be this shot with maybe 1-3 to 1/2 of the surroundings clipped. --Degenret01 10:30, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

I am nominating Template:Tarikochi Credits for deletion, because it is clearly in violation of our new image policy, which says that image descriptions should not include credits. But if there shouldn't be any credits, why have a credits template?

Keep/move/merge - This is something that really needs to be put in with or a supplement to the various guides on Construction. It has been argued on some fansite forums that construction is boring and that all POH houses look the same. I've argued otherwise... and it is this article together with some interesting designs for houses I've seen on this wiki that have convinced me that there is some architecture design going into a POH that could shared with the greater RS community. Fortune telling

I strongly believe that this article should be deleted. This article is rather nonsensical, silly and is about a practice that I have never heard/seen/come across while playing RuneScape. Put broadly, the article talks about different ways that a player's fortune can be told, and is a whole new level of superstitiousness that I have never seen before.

One of the more ridiculous methods it lists is as follows: "Some may place a fire of oak on top of ram bones and wait until the ash can be swept away. Then the Bones are given to the seeker of fortune to bury in a place that holds meaning to the seer. The player is granted a feeling that the ram's spirit will protect him or her in the adventures to come."

If we are going to keep this article, it will bring about a whole array of problems. What qualifies as a proper method of fortune telling. How notable must this method be? Why don't I insert a section which says: "It is believed that running to the southern-most point on RuneScape to its northern-point will bring about good fortune, due to the blessings of the many monsters the player meets while doing so."

or

"Light a purple fire, while wearing full Enchanted robes. Purple is the colour of royalty and doing so will bring about good fortune for your character, and it may be that your character will be more lucky in his travels."

Now, enough of the examples. Moving on, the article gives a disclaimer at the end, which reads:

"(Please be sure to remember that fortune telling has an affect only on those who believe in it. Such things will NOT make you invincible and cannot prevent death or harm. The affect is psychological and only useful in decision making. You are entirely in control of what happens to your character. Also remember that any fortune teller who wishes to know your password in return for a divination is a scammer and should be reported immediately.)"

Even with this disclaimer, we should not keep this article as a whole variety of "fortune telling methods" could bring about psychological effects and affect your decision making. I'm surprised that no one has already VfDed this article, seeing as how ridiculous it really is. What do the rest of you think? C.ChiamTalk 09:06, November 4, 2009 (UTC)

Distractions and Diversions locations has outlived its useful lifespan. Oppose I find this to be one of the most useful pages for myself on this wiki. I often just need a quik reference list for myself, and I constantly tell others about this page specifically as the best list of places. The other articles are indeed good, but also longer and it requires more pages/tabs open to have those lists ready. Also, while on one hand the location pictures on the star page add to it somewhat, it makes the list of locations way too long to load and scroll through on slower comps. While the list on the locations page is nice and concise and to the point. We would be doing a dissservice to eliminate this page imo.--Degenret01 06:32, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

I can see why you would want a simplified page, but I would think that it would make much more sense to actually make a simplified version of each page instead of having a page of simplified guides that don't logically go together?? I don't think that I have ever felt the need to simultaniously hunt stars and go to the circus. Unicorn horn dust.png Evil Yanks talk 06:39, November 18, 2009 (UTC)
Well, I agree the circus location isn't a big deal all that often Lol but you might be surprised at how often the trees spawn within minutes of a star falling, almost as if Jagex wants us to choose rather than do both. If we go with merge/delete than we should take all the star spot pics back out of the Star page. Hunters are looking for fast guides to get that tag.--Degenret01 07:32, November 18, 2009 (UTC)
It seems a bit balmy currently to keep a page with no new info simply because it prevents people from having to open multiple tabs. I tried to make the table so that it helps players who are new to stars since they are the ones that need help. While some of the in-game images are currently not as useful as I imagined, the ones that have landmarks would probably be what a new user concentrates on. If I ever do get around to completing (to a reasonable level) the star soloers guide, having a quick-reference guide would be really useful there. Comment/proposal - I'd like to point out that this article can be useful but why is it an article? I mean really? "Locations of Altars" might be a useful article but there isn't an article for that. Why not? Even if it isn't in the article itself it can be found via map. I'm sure the articles contain locations for the D&D's and if they though perhaps add them? As for penguins there's weekly threads for them, right here being a prime example on forums. Chaos knight 02:21, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

Some people like to use the wiki, not Runescape forums.--Degenret01 02:32, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
Fair enough but isn't it safe to say that the locations can just be put into penguins article? Deny it if you will but a whole article just on locations is kind of a waste of space you never see any other article based on locations of current stuff why is this special? Belongs in the D&D article or the articles of the particular D&D. Chaos knight 04:03, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
Because its a nice short tight list, not a super long article with tons of info I don't need yet must scroll past to get to what I want. Like Chrislee33 underneath says. I'd be willing to bet a small bit that hunter of stars and trees like this page, nonhunters don't realize how good it is.--Degenret01 05:27, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
Ahem? Hate bring this back but the list already IS on another page, which is, if you haven't checked it out, shorter than this page ironically. I fail to see how wiki needs an article about the locations as the only thing it adds is a list of stuff already here in a much longer fashion than the articles do. Chaos knight 06:34, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
Chaos Knight, may I remind you that links to something advertising a clan isn't allowed on the wiki? It's part of the reason why my locations videos can't be linked or embedded. Also, out of all the people who penguin hunt, only a small fraction know of our (Canada's) thread, let alone how to get there. Boomer12342 21:31, November 21, 2009 (UTC)
My apologizes, was literally the first thread I thought of, otherwise I'm fairly sure there's at least one thread on forums that lists locations, without advertising clans, which was one of the points of my post, the main thing updated in this is the penguins and there are threads that could be linked into an article listing them. Proposal - I am really surprised, I was expecting this to breeze through with little/no opposition. I am still struggling. I read through the reasons why people have opposed and the main reason people seem to oppose is that it looses the short version of the star hunting locations. A solution to this is to create a "Soloers star guide" which incorporates a the short star location as well as a short guide to some fast routes to take to check the star locations. About the penguin page however, I reckon a complete list of all possible roam ranges should be added and be a permanent feature on the page. That way a table of weekly locations can easily be edited and pictures easily referable. --Skulenotcule 21:13, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
You're implying to create a list of all possible penguin locations? I do not agree with that. That will not help anyone in anyway. Who cares exactly where a penguin can be in any number of weeks? All people care about is where a penguin is at the time of their hunting. You said: "That way a table of weekly locations can easily be edited and pictures easily referable." I update the table weekly, and it's currently as easy as it can get. I will continue to update it for some time to come probably, so the ease of editing the table for anyone else doesn't seem logical if it's already done. Boomer12342 00:44, November 25, 2009 (UTC)

File:Leader icon.gif

kytti khat has told me that most users would intuitively be able to figure out that File:Leader icon.gif, and the userbox it is used for, , is meant for oligarchy-based clans. However, the fact that an image created by the wiki is being used on the userbox can confuse users (like myself and Slipknot64772) to think it is an actual rank. Since Template:Userbox/clan is meant for actual ranks in a clan, I think that the "Leader" rank should be removed.

Keep and not merge - This is not just simply following a friend (although it does involve the use of the follow option), but rather a specific social situation/emergent gameplay concept that makes use of following other players. Back in the days of rune runners and before some of the more popular teleports happened, this used to be very common, with players openly announcing taxi services to one place in the game or another. Yeah, I'd call this a stub. There is actually some fansite material, blogs, and other commentary that can be added to this concept and significantly enhance this article as something fairly substantial. Not popular or notable? I guess you haven't been playing this game that much or for very long. I did note several taxi services that exist on the RSOF that still will take you to any spot in the game.... for a fee... and give you a "guided tour". Some are even operating as tourist agencies. Perhaps this is a bit obscure compared to some parts of this game, but it is a topic that clearly needs to be documented and written up about.... and not filed away as a footnote on the follow article. --Robert Horning 00:00, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

RuneScape:No page

I don't see why we use this; you're supposed to delete the article, not redirect it to a page that tells you what the Special: deleted article page would. It says it's to remove wanted pages, but aren't we supposed to remove the redlinks from the pages instead of redirect them to this? White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 22:24, November 26, 2009 (UTC)

Edit - Robert Horning says that it's to prevent recreation of pages, but we have Special:ProtectedPages RuneScape:Blacklist Special:ProtectedTitles. Also, if this is deleted, then we should also delete :File:No image.png.

Use a bot. We don't want blue links linking to no pages. White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 22:48, November 28, 2009 (UTC)

Delete - No page has too many links to manually remove; after all, the links were manually added in the first place. Also, someone could make a bot to automatically remove the red links. Finally, if a page is really so important that there would be too many red links, why would it be deleted in the first place? --MarkGyver 17:48, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

Keep - The reason to hang onto a page like this is useful if there is a page that is consistently being recreated due to vandalism or a "popular" non-item article page that keeps being created by new users. I'm trying hard to think of what would be the case here on this wiki (Sailing if it is deleted or the Black Party Hat?), but it is something I've done on other wikis, where the page has been fully-protected as a re-direct and then sent to a page like this as a catch-all to keep those pages from being re-created again. As an administrator tool, this could have some value. Still, the above comments have value in terms of questioning the usefulness of a page like this. --Robert Horning 20:48, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

Why not use Special:ProtectedPages? White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 20:50, November 27, 2009 (UTC)
I'm not entirely sure what you are implying here. You can't protect non-existent pages as they simply don't exist, but you can protect a page that is simply a re-direct. Fully protecting a page whose content is just a redirect keeps the page from being recreated. Are you implying that we simply create a redirect to Special:ProtectedPages? That wouldn't explain to a reader or end-user of our wiki to explain why a page is protected, where as this particular "No page" page can accomplish this minor and modest task. --Robert Horning 14:31, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
Hey, here is a compromise.... merge all of the links to this page with Non-existency? (or the other way around?) --Robert Horning 15:06, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
Wait, sorry, I gave you the wrong link. I can't find the right one, but RuneScape:Blacklist explains it.

Oh, the deleted page thing I was talking about was, we delete the link to the nonexistant page, then, if someone tries to search it, they get, this page does not exist, here are some search terms; if they try to create the page, ProtectedPages blocks it. White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 22:54, November 28, 2009 (UTC)
Basically, I mean users shouldn't be following links to nonexistant pages. White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 22:55, November 28, 2009 (UTC)
Yes I agree that when possible a redirect should be used or theh links removed, but what happens when that's not possible? If we were redirected to that page, a user wouldn't know why they were redirected there. It'd be confusing to a new user. kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar.png 20:22, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
You also can't redirect to special pages. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 20:29, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
No, no redirects, I mean this:

Neutral - I want to see Robert's response to ProtectedTitles. But I am kind of leaning towards keep for No image.png because there are many images that link to it and removing them sometimes may make rereading hard because someone will go up and down the page saying "HUH WHERES THE IMAGE WERE TALKING ABOUT ZOMG" Cheers, 07:07, December 3, 2009 (UTC)

I do stand corrected on the point that there is now a tool to block pages from being re-created and not even have a link to any page at all. Keep in mind that I'm an ancient Wikimedia admin that sometimes gets stuck in a rut doing things a certain way because it simply worked and didn't pay attention to all of these new fangled tools like the ProtectedTitles page. In the past, this and many other "hacks" were done by admins because of limits of the software that now have explict tools to get the job done. Still, I think it is useful in some situations to explain to users why certain classes of articles have been deleted rather than simply leaving them as a blocked red-link. "Soft" redirects (where a page points to external content and not much else) is one of those situations, as would commonly searched terms. All I was trying to point out is that there might be a reason to keep a page like this, even if other tools are available that may do the job as well. To me, a red-link says we can create an article on the topic. What would be sweet is if somehow MediaWiki software converted everything on the Protected Titles page to a "black-link"... i.e. displayed the "link" as if it didn't even exist in the first place. That, however, isn't something that is currently a part of the software and what is a limitation at the moment. --Robert Horning 09:57, December 6, 2009 (UTC)
Then why don't we just delete all the blocked redlinks? White partyhat old.png C Teng talk 17:43, December 6, 2009 (UTC)
I hope this was just an attempt to be absurd to demonstrate an objection to this idea. There are certainly links that should remain as redlinks, for example "Poop" is one of those that does not deserve any kind of redirect and should remain as the protected red-link that it is. Similar other words far more offensive fit in this realm as well. Presuming that Sailing is deleted, I would suggest that it be redirected to a page like the one under discussion and protected from editing. That is the kind of link that should be protected. I am suggested that somebody who types in Poop into their user talk page or something that won't be instantly deleted on the spot, that the red-link shouldn't even show up. That is my wish, but something that won't happen any time soon due to limits with the MediaWiki software. There is a role for both kind of link protection methods that would be useful to the greater Runescape community. --Robert Horning 14:53, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

Keep - This page is necessary, it's as Robert said, pages which keep getting re-created can just be redirected to this page instead to prevent it's recreation. Black cavalier.png Zenihdrol Tribal top (blue).png 13:39, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Keep - I laughed when I read this, but since it does serve a legitimate purpose, it should be kept, although, maybe a more serious rewrite should be in store. Honestly... " Or maybe you just got lost. Or someone wanted you to get lost. The point is, you're not there, you're here. And there's nothing here." I don't know, that part is a bit unnecessary Bowler225 02:28, December 9, 2009 (UTC)

Template:Quest spoiler

This seems to go completely against the logic behind the creation of the spoilers policy. I am not sure what else to say. I haven't added this to the template since I am not fully sure how to add it without making it appear in the template.

Delete - As nominator. Unicorn horn dust.png Evil Yanks talk 07:05, November 30, 2009 (UTC)

Keep, Sorta - It should be removed from quest guides, because it's pretty obvious that they are guides. But I believe it should be kept on things like the Cryptic Clue Fest, because there are probably quite a few not aware of our spoiler policy, and we don't want to accidentally ruin events like these for people. Sidenote - I added the template. To do so next time, use <noinclude>vfd</noinclude> to add the vfd template. UTNRGLBucket detail.pngrwojy 07:12, November 30, 2009 (UTC)

Strong keep - This template should have only been used in non-quest articles, and for spoilers from sources other than the actual game. For example, from the book Betrayal of Falador.

It should be removed from quest guides, because it's pretty obvious that they are guides.
The spoiler statement in quest guides was already there in Template:Quest details, and since this template basically said the same thing, I decided to transclude this template in that template as well.
This seems to go completely against the logic behind the creation of the spoilers policy.
How would people know about the policy if there are unaware of it? At least this template points to the spoiler policy. The policy, IMO, was created to say that the wiki is not responsible if we spoil anything for the reader.   az talk   10:50, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
I am not sure if ignorance is a good reason. Anyway, is it possible to create a dismiss button which is placed on the spoiler template (like the dismiss button on the sitenotice), and once it is dismissed it does not reoccur again?? Hopefully everyone should be aware of the spoiler policy this way, yet there will not be a distracting yellow message on every page. Unicorn horn dust.png Evil Yanks talk 05:36, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
Support Yanks' idea, if possible - I find it very annoying to have this appear in all the quest guides, etc. A dismiss option would be lovely. ~ Fire Surge icon.png Sentry Telos Talk  18:32, December 3, 2009 (UTC)

Delete - A template mentioning a spoiler is not needed. This particular template is ugly and I was saddened when I saw it on The Temple at Senntisten article. Delete It is possibly arguable we don't need any spoiler warning on any page, I can not imagine anyone reading an article and NOT expecting all of the information we have. Why else are they here? At the very least it should certainly be taken off quest guides.--Degenret01 13:48, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

Keep Quest guides, well, OBVIOUSLY, they will be spoilers. Other articles that people may not expect, i.e. ones with a background to it in the middle of an article, and I have seen quite a few, SHOULD have this appended to it. And since when does the "appeal" of a template as long as it makes sense to a viewer even come into play? This template is quite clear and visible. Bowler225 02:22, December 9, 2009 (UTC)
