Support - I think that this page is very informative, and as said above, everyone should know how to make money.MeStarfinder 17:47, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Oppose Last time I opposed this being on the front page was because the methods were erratic and inconsistent, and sometimes downright unreliable. This time the oppose is for totally different reasons, I can see that the article has been revamped totally since them, and is much more accessible now, but like Hess said, the article that you're voting for Peckham is just a short list, with nothing else there. I think if you want to nominate this again, you'd be better choosing 1 aspect of the Moneymaking guide, probably the longest and with best pictures/graphology and nominating that one. Khalron 11:17, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Oppose This guide is poorly written, and really out of date ‎Easter egg.pngAtlandy 14:44, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Oppose This guide fails, it used to be a huge table of ways to make money and I liked that better, but some retard took out the table and divided everything into these dumb links that you have to click. Revert the guide or I oppose. Zezzima 22:49, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Oppose - As per above opposers. Statistics.png Lvl 3 skils3 Choice! Talk~ Holiday Signup ~Hiscores 06:45, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Oppose I oppose this nomination because, although its well written it lacks a good rating system. The current system is not very effective as I find some of the best money makers under 4 stars and some strategies that make very little money under 5 stars. The system should be changed to a money per hour base rather than a 1-5 star base. While i agree that this system may be difficult to implement with certain strategies such as monster killing which may be inconsistent it is much better than a star based rating system. This system may be very difficult to achieve because I have yet to see such a money per hour system after nearly 5 years playing runescape. But I also have yet to see another system anywhere near as comprehensive as the current system. I also agree that spliting up the guide into links was a bad idea, even if it helps sort out things. I would much prefer to see 1 large page but with it divided up. Some examples of the current systems' inaccuracy: fishing sharks is at 4 stars and makes less than 150k an hour by both my tests (i have 80 fishing) and by the own example that is currently in the money making guide under fishing. Then there is the example of buying plant pots and then selling on G.E. rated at 5 stars which by their own numbers only make a profit of 100k to 200k. By my test you make at most 168,480 coins an hour. This method is found under the money making without skills section. Compare the previous 2 methods to the method of getting mort myre fungi from the mort myre swamp. Getting mort myre fungi is rated at 3 stars. Yet by their own reckoning gathering mort myre fungi makes around 290k an hour. When i tested it i got around 250k an hour, although i used a different, less effective spot. Stunningly this method is listed directly above the buying plant pots method. Each method is not 2 inches away from the other methods yet they are clearly in conflict. --Streetkid99 00:51, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Number of edits has nothing to do with whether you can vote for or against an article Rune crossbow.png Hess36talk Ancient staff.png 22:37, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Oppose - This article is essentially links to several (and by that I mean too many) charts with tons of information on making money. The difficulty I have with this article is that it seems to encompass every possible way to make money. This article (and I'm including the subarticles) is difficult to use at best. It's overwhelming. I take a look at this article and say "I can't make heads or tails of this, I'll figure out my own way." I agree that if there were a particularly good section, it would merit nomination. Air rune.png Tollerach hates SoF Fire rune.png 08:01, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
PS - Not "every" player needs to know how to make money. I've done just fine without it ;)

Support - I support this nomination because this guide has helped me make millions on RS and without it I would never have made that much money. If this article can help me so much, I'm sure it can help everyone else too. It has a great effectiveness rating system and is regularly updated with the latest money making methods and changes to the methods that already exists. Dan2384 16:11, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Support - I support the making of a money guide. There are currently avout 5000 new players streaming into Runescape every day. Even though my level is only 13 and people call me a noob (I find that offensive) but I currently make more than 50000 gp on the GE every day now. :) I want to help all those in experienced players out there. Yes, it's fairly short. But it contains extremely detailed information and excellent tips. Also it helps that the important words are bolded, so the reader can see them easily. Each knight has a neat little picture as well.

Support and comment - I think I've visited pretty much every page on the Wiki over the last couple of years, yet I'd never seen this before, and that's a good enough reason for me to give it a vote, plus the fact that it's informative and nicely structured. Quick question though - Surely there are more than 2 stone circles in Runescape, I'm sure I remember a couple from quests and such, though I'm not totally sure. Khalron 13:47, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm afraid these are the only remaining ones, the circle near Varrock is involved in the Demon slayer quest, and the one in Taverley is involved in the druid quest

series.--

Support -I love history, even if it is only in a game. But Runescape is so complex and coinsides with the historical era I love, ruins, worship, ancient cities, battles, that kind of stuff. Not only is the content so interesting, but it's baffeling how well it's written, so much information related to one small subject most people barely bother to recognize. It earns my vote :)--Themanisrob 20:55, 18 January 2009

While there are lists on the page, there is still quite a bit of hard writing. This article perfectly fits the requirements to be article of the month. "The article is well written and informative." "The article's pictures look nice and are not scarce." "Overall, the article looks nice and is easy to read." Article of the month is not about the largest articles, it is meant to be about the highest quality articles and deserve praise. Unicorn horn dust.png Evil Yanks talk 05:24, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
That's the point I'm trying to make. 80% of the content is just lists, which take a huge chunk away from the article's quality. -Byte_Master bytesig2.png bytesig3.png 07:04, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Support - Even though Byte Master has a good point. I think the full list of members' quests isn't needed. It would just need to be updated. Oppose - The article doesn't look too professional. While it may be informative, it still lacks these two criterias:

  • The article is well written.
Nah. The equipment/inventory seems to be (loosely) based on writer's preferences. The equipment/inventory may be hard to get without images. Only the most common strategies are listed, and the article is mostly made up of inventory/equipment lists. Not something I would like to read.
  • The article follows the style guide.
A handful of typos, only two pictures (one JPEG) and neither shows inventory. I found the Tips hard to read; grammar and weird explanations in some cases. Example:
"Archer Helmet more effective than Robin Hood Hat or coifs as its cheaper but for those who haven't complete Fremennik Trials Blessed Coif is recommended." - Understood, but grammar fiends are terrified.
"Ring of wealth will NOT change, but will make it less common,so a ring of life is a better choice" - WTF?
By the way, don't you support your own nomination? dictature 22:05, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Comment Fine, I messed this up with god wars and godsword, both of which have been featured. But the GWD is a high-leveled area that not many people would make use of (not even I ever went near that place) so i think Member or GE would be better candidates for featured article.

Oppose - The article has some typos, and is far too large. In addition to the dungeon itself, it contains a lot of information belonging to other pages only. (Like the Dying knight, who has his own section.) A lot of information is also pretty trivial. In addition, there's a lot of SD images.
P.S. I think Zezzima's oppose should be deleted, as it has no explanation. Can't remember a policy about it though. dictature 20:31, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

While Guthix Sleeps[edit source]

This quest has changed Runescape forever. Not only does it have story changing outcomes, but it is also referred to as the "Grand Master Quest" by Jagex themselves. This quest is the most difficult quest, as well as the most honored quest. This one quest alone takes up a lot of space. The page is well detailed and gives a lot of insight on the quest, as well as the storyline.

Oppose - It is simply a huge page of directions that you have to follow, not a well-written article. There are many grammatical errors and it is a bit messy. Perhaps the storyline is a major part of RuneScape history, but an article like Stone of Jas would be better suited if you were looking for information.  Tien  14:50, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Oppose This is a huge and difficult quest that no one's gonna ever do, why bother showing it? I read it once or twice just because I liked to see what goes on, but there's nothing useful to most players. Zezzima 22:49, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Comment Quite a ridiculous reason for opposing. Runescape should not be catered so that everyone can do every quest straight away, thank god this one actually requires work on behalf of the player, as some players enjoy being able to use the skills they have trained. It's one of the 5 quests I've yet to do, and I'll certainly do it within time, and I imagine a lot of other high-skilled players will/have already done it too. As for being nothing useful, not heard of Dragon Claws and Dragon Plate, these were hugely anticipated items, and are sought after by many, many Runescape players Khalron 19:47, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Cape of Accomplishment[edit source]

Skillcapes changed RuneScape in late 2006. They have single-handedly given more players a reason to train up certain skills to 99. Also, this article is one of the Wiki's most popular pages. It is well-detailed, well-written (with very few, if any grammatical errors) and tells a player almost anything a player would want to know about skillcapes. I think this article deserves to features on the main page.

Length has nothing to do with the quality. Godsword and Santa hat are fairly small articles compared to some other AotM (like Armour and Mournings End Part 2). This time, I think the page is very informative and useful for players of all levels and backgrounds. Dorgesh-Kaan Thieving and Firemaking[edit source]

I think that this is a very detailed guide for a very underutilized method of training two skills (primarily Firemaking, but also Thieving). The person who wrote this (User:Jrrast) obviously put a lot of time and effort into making this article, even making a map of Dorgesh-Kaan for people who learn better visually to understand this method of training. I think this article should have a lot more recognition (I think I'll link to it on the firemaking training page now), and I think it is definitely AOTM material.

Slayer[edit source]

I think slayer should be out next featured article. It has been ranked 13 in the most visited page on Runescape wikia source. It has very fun activites and many high level players use it. Even the lowest levels find it enjoyable. Many say its well fun, good money and xp as you are training 3 (5 if on shared) skills at once. One good article that deserves to be featured. Oppose - Slayer isn't a well-known skill. So what if it's ranked most visited?? It's just the act of killing monsters for slayer experience. The skill itself is really boring. If you wanna nominate anything good, nominate wc.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Noob4lyfe (talk) on 17:40, June 5, 2009.

By your reasoning, woodcutting is also really boring - cutting down trees for money/experience. By extension, all skills, nay, all of RuneScape is too - doing stuff for experience points or for coins.
AOTM is judged by the quality of the article, not the quality of the thing that the article is about. Quest.png Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 17:46, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Baxtorian[edit source]

I was amazed when I first stumbled upon this article how high quality it was. It is very well written, a nice size, has a good spattering of pictures and is on a not well known NPC that I feel deserves more credit. I feel that the article justifies itself.

Lumbridge[edit source]

I think this is a very well-written, detailed article about a well-known town. Lumbridge is the first town that all new players see, and most begin their training here by killing men, goblins, chickens, and cows. Aside from the outside monsters, Lumbridge contains some small shops/facilities such as the altar and furnace. The castle is the default respawn point for all free players and some members, as well as home to important figures, and many quests take place here, like Recipe for Disaster and The Lost Tribe. Most players take advantage of the castle's resources such as the two banks, spinning wheel, and more. All this makes Lumbridge one of the most important cities in RuneScape. Along with its importance and the quality of its article, Lumbridge would be a great featured article. But, the history of RuneScape is important to know, because if a person doesn't, many storylines wouldn't make much sense to the player. How did Lumbridge become the way it is today? It's the history that bring together the plots and storylines of a quest, city, or anything else, even non-player characters. ~MuzTalk 21:19, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

King Tyras[edit source]

I am re-nominating King Tyras for AOTM using the same reason last month. He is a major NPC in the Plague quest series believed to be the antagonist until the end of Regicide. This is an extremely well-written article about his life and adventures, with quality to match or even exceed that of Baxtorian, Lucien, and other featured articles. Even his alleged assassination may not prove to be the end of him (he was not in the tent when the player destroyed it). If King Tyras is still alive, he may play an important part in a future quest of this large Plague City/Elf plot, maybe even help the player defeat Lord Iorwerth, his evil elves, and King Lathas for good. I am nominating Ullek for Article of the Month for September. After taking a good reading of it, it gave me a good insight of knowledge of the history of the area. As it was one of the greatest cities of its time, it has a lot of information on it. It shows before the God Wars, during the God Wars, and after the God Wars. Tells a time of struggle for the residents, and how they had built the capital of the desert, Menaphos. Overall, the article has a nice amount of well written information, has a good variety of images, and also has a map to show the area. ~MuzTalk 16:10, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

50 edits are not currently necessary for voting, nor is having a registered account to vote with. You are getting confused with User of the month. Unicorn horn dust.png Evil Yanks talk 09:25, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Zezzima, what someone votes on - whether it's against you or for you, doesn't matter. If he votes against you, you can't complain, even if he does 'vote against you always'. Every AOTM when your article doesn't get 'Supports', you complain.Nephilim RetiredGuthix stole.png

I believe that this article is worthy of "Featured-article" status because it is very informative, well-written, interesting, and a good read (much better than some obscure skill article). Lord Drakan[edit source]

I am nominating Lord Drakan as October's article of the month. When I stumbled upon this article, I was actually stunned by the amount of information found. It is very informative and very well-written. There seems to be a few SD images, but I'm sure that getting it as a Runescape Article of the Month will get people to see this page, and therefore upgrade it to its full capacity. Finally, there is quite a few references, which is always good. Yojeez 20:23, September 1, 2009 (UTC)

Oppose Tyras is a very centralized NPC, yes, but he's yet to do anything in-game. Lathas is the quest starting and conspiracy one. Tyras is just sort of there, not even appearing in his tent when he supposedly was supposed to be. Maybe when he appears in game and communication is established would this be good to be AotM. Since the AOTM has not yet switched over to the new style where it is no longer monthly, I feel that it would be good to nominate a page that will hopefully get supporters instead of opposition.(no offence Beginner guide) I like Morian's articles on the ongoing pirate events, with this article being one of my favourites. I feel that the article speaks for itself on the quality.
