If you are reporting vandalism in progress, use this page.
What this page is for
  • Protecting/unprotecting pages.
    Highly visible pages or content that may have links from outside websites are encouraged to have some level of protection. This can also include a request for administrators to try and calm down an edit war. This should be done according to the RuneScape:Protection policy.
  • Moving/renaming protected pages and files.
    Due to vandals' mis-use of the page move tool, some pages are protected from being renamed except by an administrator. If you can make a compelling case for a page move, or consensus has been reached on the respective discussion page related to the page you think needs to be renamed, formal requests for the page move can happen here. New contributors to this wiki or "anonymous" users wishing to rename a page that don't have the page move option available to them yet are also welcome to make such requests on this page.
  • Minor edits to protected pages.
    This is mostly on protected templates that can have a substantial impact on the whole wiki if they are changed, so caution is urged when they are modified.
  • Announcements that are intended to be across the whole wiki.
    This appears on MediaWiki:Sitenotice, and should be something that would be of interest to the whole community.
  • Importing pages from another wiki.
    While seldom used for content on this wiki, this is an option that is available for bringing in content from another wiki and preserving its edit history, which requires administrator rights. MediaWiki importing tools can sometimes be buggy, so be gentle on volunteer administrators doing this task.
  • Hiding revisions and/or edit summaries.
    In the case of blatant copyright violations, significantly offensive material, identity establishing information, or any other content that poses a major risk to the wiki or its editors, the revision(s) may be hidden using Special:RevisionDelete.
  • General questions to the administrators of this wiki.
    You might get a faster reply by posting on the User help page; however, the administrators here will try to help you to the best of their abilities.
What this page is not for
  • Problems that do not require administrator tools to complete.
    Instead, please visit the user help page.
  • Problem users who may be vandalising content pages.
    Instead, please note the user that may be causing problems on the RuneScape:Counter-Vandalism Unit page.
  • Requests to become an administrator.
    If you are interested in learning what an administrator does or how you can become one, please visit RuneScape:Administrators for information about administrators and RuneScape:Requests for adminship for the process to become an administrator.
  • General discussions about administrator behaviour.
    Most policy discussions, including policies that govern administrators, ought to be started on the Yew Grove and kept to that forum for input from the larger RS wiki community.
  • Minor requests for deletion.
    If you've accidentally duplicated content or wish to just clean up a mess you've made on the wiki, you should simply tag the page with {{D|Reason(s) for nomination}}.

Please only make requests on this page that specifically require sysop tools to fulfill.

Making citations easier to use[edit source]

Here's some stuff that would make citing things easier in both VisualEditor and source editor:

I'm too lazy to do any/all of this. If anyone wants to help (non-admins can fill out TemplateData), please do. Iiii I I I 23:03, 26 March 2019 (UTC)

Penguin Locations Gadget[edit source]

... is broken. Highlighting doesn't work. Reset is today. Please fix asap. I suggest just reverting the code. --Saftzie (talk) 00:17, 10 July 2019 (UTC)

Somebody deleted the CSS class that it shares with highlight table. --Saftzie (talk) 00:47, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
This should be fixed now. We changed the highlightTable CSS to only load on pages with table.lighttable, but this didn't catch #pengLocations. Can we move the penguin locations to use the standard lighttable, and make the gadget only deal with the toggling? Are there any downsides to this? ʞooɔ 07:35, 10 July 2019 (UTC)
"Clear highlighted rows" is an ugly long button label. (FWIW, highlightTable is - or has been - a derivative of pengLocations.) I think only one special load instead of two would be preferable. --Saftzie (talk) 03:48, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

Special:Editcount[edit source]

transcluding Special:Editcount like {{Special:Editcount/Nericat}} returns the wrong value. Template:Editcounts uses this to make a table but it's noticably wrong (at time of writing it says I have 1433 edits despite my main + file edits totalling 1448). I could fix the template by adding all the separate editcounts together, but that seems suboptimal. a better fix would be appreciated. Nericat (talk) 03:17, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

Tagging @JaydenKieran and @TehKittyCat as I believe this will be something requiring sysadmin attention. At time of writing, {{Special:Editcount/Cqm}} returns 2632 which is not my mainspace edit count or any obvious combination of edits across other namespaces. Could one of you take a peek to see where the number are coming from? cqm talk 21:17, 22 September 2019 (UTC)

MediaWiki:External image whitelist[edit source]

tinypic is shutting down September 16. It already doesn't allow embedding its images. It can be deleted from the whitelist. Maybe add It seems to be an anonymous, small-image hoster with broad SSL/TLS support like tinypic was. --Saftzie (talk) 23:09, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

@Saftzie I would add it, but currently it's returning 502 errors to me via cloudflare. Do you have any example URLs or a regex I can add in the meantime? cqm talk 21:17, 22 September 2019 (UTC)
All the embedding ("hot-linking") hosts appear to follow the format ^https://s\dd\d\.turboimg\.net/. The front-end for uploading is at --Saftzie (talk) 23:19, 24 September 2019 (UTC)

perkcalc[edit source]

could someone add <nowiki></nowiki> tags to the perkcalc gadgets so they don't appear in Category:Pages using invalid self-closed HTML tags please? thanks Nericat (talk) 11:15, 28 October 2019 (UTC)

Done. :) Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 09:25, 29 October 2019 (UTC)

Minor fix to Module:Questreq/data[edit source]

A Guild of Our Own is duplicated on line 31 and 136. They quest requirements also need to be consolidated to {"Started:The Feud", "Lost Her Marbles"} Mnewton (talk) 03:08, 10 November 2019 (UTC)

It has been fixed and I've also reordered everything alphabetically to prevent this in the future. :) Farming-icon.png Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) Prifddinas lodestone icon.png 10:32, 11 November 2019 (UTC)

Add some CSS to fix ironman requirements on Achievement pages[edit source]

Hi :) I'm requesting the following 2 rules be added to Common.css, please.

table .im-task-reqs {
    text-align: left;
table .im-task-reqs p {
    margin: 0.8em 0 0 0;

This new class "im-task-reqs" would be passed into Template:Ironmanreqs section's "class" parameter on achievement-related pages for a cleaner look. Following image shows the rules in action. Left without the rules, right with. uLHIWev.png

Thanks :) My contributions Dalek SecTalk to me 15:43, 16 November 2019 (UTC)

Modification to lighttables for basic rowspan support[edit source]

I've set up a demo page (see link above) that showcases proposed changes to highlightTable-core.js (a.k.a. "lighttables"). These changes would add some basic (read: non-nested) rowspan support to both the hover/click highlight effects of lighttables. As noted on my userpage, the best example would be Yak Track Tasks table.

The UI change I went with was to highlight all rows in a rowspan when any row in the span is hovered/clicked. Some alternatives would be:

  1. Break out the rowspan cells and only highlight the active row + those rowspan cells. In the context of the demo, that would mean the "Tier" cell would always be highlighted, but for the remaining columns only the row under the cursor would get highlighted. This proposes a bit more complexity in the local storage aspect (though I suspect it would be easy to overcome by not using the "rows" mode and storing each cell's highlight state individually).
  2. No change; the OCD in some of us will watch the "Tier" column bounce from highlights/no highlights for span'd rows and cry internally but otherwise survive.

Request Content Security Policy addition[edit source]

Please add to the content security policy to support embedded twitter histories. I have one on my User: page (and the js to load the history in my common.js). I believe this is a web server thing, not a MediaWiki thing, since the CSP is sent in an HTTP header, not as part of the HTML. According to my web console, the current CSP for is

script-src 'unsafe-inline' 'unsafe-eval' https://* https://*

Thanks. --Saftzie (talk) 01:04, 1 January 2020 (UTC)

Sidebar request[edit source]

Shouldn't "New images" in the sidebar be changed to "New files"? After all that is what the page is actually called, and it also contains sounds and animations. Exaldin (talk) 21:36, 15 January 2020 (UTC)
