Rue pet detail.png

The Rue pet is an item that can be found while training Runecrafting. It can be inspected to unlock the Rue pet, destroying the item.

It is unlocked by training Runecrafting via crafting runes at Runespan or at runecrafting altars, including using unstable essence. Receiving this pet is based on the amount of experience awarded at once; the more experience granted, the greater the chance of gaining this pet. With the exception of the 100% experience increase of the demonic skull while training Runecrafting via the Abyss , the chance is not affected by experience boosters. Handing in runes to yellow wizard does not have a chance of rolling Rue. Although siphoning from Runesphere does have a chance of a pet, handing in the dusts to a depleted Runesphere does not. When a player obtains the pet, they receive one of the following messages:

While skilling, you find Rue, the Runecrafting pet. It has been added to your inventory.

While skilling, you find Rue, the Runecrafting pet. However, you do not have enough inventory space, so it has been sent to your bank.

In a purely mathematical format your chance of receiving the pet on any particular action is

Where:

  • is the base experience per action
  • is the virtual skill level. At 200 million experience, a flat bonus of 200 is applied to this value
