Emerald ring detail.png

The ring of duelling is a members-only teleportation ring that may be made by casting Enchant Level 2 Jewellery on an emerald ring. A full ring of duelling will provide 8 teleports before it crumbles away into nothing. Using a Teleportation compactor, you can make a Ring of duelling (c) with up to 160 charges.

Combat stats[edit | edit source]

Teleports[edit | edit source]

Combat bracelets have replaced duelling rings as the quickest teleport to a bank chest as of the Members Loyalty Programme update on 28 June 2011, and the TokKul-Zo provides unlimited teleports to a bank, but the ring is still notable as the closest teleport to a spirit tree (via South Feldip Hills), as well as the closest teleport to the balloon transport system (commonly used to access the Lumber Yard).

Cost analysis[edit | edit source]

Assumptions: To conserve your coins, only use 7 charges, then alch or sell the single charge rings. If making your own, all materials bought on Grand Exchange.

Method Notes Cost per charge
(pre-made)
Cost per charge
(self-made)
Use full ring Slightly faster (less time banking/alching/selling). 491.5 245.63
High Level Alchemy Gets some Magic experience, and saves money. 529.43 248.43
Sell on the Grand Exchange Takes less time than alching and may return slightly more coins. −408.71 −689.71

Another option is to use the ring of duelling to 1-charge, stack them up in your bank, then take 24 rings of duelling (1) to Murky Matt (runes) and he will combine them into three rings of duelling (8) much like the decanting of potions with Bob Barter (herbs). If you have a pack of 28 rings of duelling (1) you will get from Murky Matt 3 rings of duelling (8) and one ring of duelling (4)

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Prior to the removal of Mobilising Armies in the 3 December 2018 update, the ring's fourth option (South Feldip Hills) was set to teleport the player directly to the minigame's entrance.
  • As part of the 7 October 2009 update, the ring of duelling was updated to allow a person to teleport more effectively when the ring is equipped. Originally, the ring had 3 options when equipped (Remove, Operate and Examine) but now has 6 options (Remove, Examine and 1 for each of the teleport spots). This significantly cuts down on teleport operation time.
  • When used in New Varrock, the teleport will not go through and the player will be given the message "The law of Zemouregal strictly prohibits unlicensed teleportation in New Varrock."
