Raw bird meat is a drop from Hunter birds. It cannot be eaten raw but can be cooked to make roast bird meat, an edible food item that heals 200 life points. Cooking it requires level 11 Cooking and is done by using an iron spit on it to make skewered bird meat, then using the skewered meat on a fire. A successful cooking attempt yields 62 cooking experience. When cooked without a spit, the result is poorly-cooked bird meat, an edible food item that also heals 200 life points.
It is also the tertiary ingredient in infusing spirit terrorbird pouches. This requires level 52 Summoning.
Players can buy them from Chargurr the cook in Oo'glog, the Ogre resort town, after completing As a First Resort. Players can buy the meat either individually or in noted Raw bird meat packs.
Players may receive raw bird meat from opening a box of summoning ingredients, a possible reward from the Familiarisation Distractions and Diversions.

- On 3 March 2009, Jagex put a max price ceiling on raw bird meat. This caused a dramatic price fall of almost 75% in less than a day, from 63 gold to 17 gold.
- On 25 March 2009, Jagex lifted the max price ceiling on raw bird meat. Its price rose 329.4% in only 4 days. However, the store price rose from 17 to 63 gold as well.
- On 7 February 2012, the potion flasks update leads to an aggravation of a price crash from around 230 coins to 130 coins. This is likely due to the update drawing many players to the out-of-the-way Oo'glog to mine the only known deposit of red sandstone at the time, and they buy the raw bird meat on the way.
- On 3 September 2018, the release of the Player-owned farm cause its price to climb, like most other raw meat or fish, due to being used to feed dragons.
