Premier Membership
Premier Membership (previously known as Premier Club) is an enhanced annual membership subscription. Benefits include discounts from Solomon's General Store, promotional pets and cosmetic items, and monthly rewards. Premier Membership can be bought with cash or redeemed in game using twenty bonds.
Premier Membership is available for purchase all year round and the instant rewards are updated yearly, usually around November.
Premier members can access the Premier Vault once a month to gain some rewards, including experience lamps, stars, and skilling packs.
VIP Chat Badges are toggleable and have a separate chat version for Player Moderators (
). Please see the #Chat badges section for more information on badges.
Historical[edit | edit source]
Premier Club was first released in 2012 and came in three tiers: Bronze (3 months), Silver (6 months), and Gold (12 months), however, in 2021 this was changed to only an annual package. Originally, Premier Club was only available for purchase during a few months out of the year, typically between November and March. On 4 May 2022 the existing regular annual membership package was renamed to Premier Membership and updated to include the benefits of Premier Club.[1]
Forum badges[edit | edit source]
In 2019 and previous years, when Gold Premier Club Membership was purchased and activated, the Gold Premier Club Member forum badge 
would automatically appear underneath a player's avatar image in forum threads, and replaced the regular Member badge 
, or lack of badge in the case of new or returning members. Starting with the 2020 package, the Gold Premier Member forum badge was discontinued. Premier Members now show the same regular Member badge as players with standard package subscriptions.
Chat badges[edit | edit source]
Premier Membership grants access to special chat badges that may be toggled on and off using the View More Options 
menu and Chat Badge

Premier Club 2022[edit | edit source]
Premier Club 2022 was initially only available from 15 November 2021 until 1 March 2022. However, on 4 May 2022, it became available year-round as the 12-month membership option. 2022 was the first year that Premier Club was solely offered as one annual package instead of 3 different packages (Bronze, Silver, and Gold). Premier Club 2021 players who were affected by the login lockout were offered a discount that was applied to their account automatically. Summer Premier Club subscribers who decided to purchase Premier Club 2022 had their daily, weekly, and monthly perks stacked and membership months extended by a further 12 months.[3]

Premier Club 2014[edit | edit source]
If you were to add up the items that can be purchased separately (Membership, Spins/Treasure Hunter keys, Loyalty points):
- The Bronze premier club is worth $23.18USD + Cosmetics
- The Silver premier club is worth $88.52USD (approx.) + Cosmetics & other benefits
- The Gold premier club is worth $180.12USD (approx.) + Cosmetics & other benefits
1 RuneCoin is worth roughly 387 loyalty points. The value of Membership & SOF spins remained the same but the value from RuneCoins to Loyalty points has reduced.
Jagex valued the Bloodpouncer pet as $35USD. This has not been included in the calculation.

Controversy[edit | edit source]
Some controversies arose when the premier club was announced:
- According to some players, they would have to pay more money for membership once the premier club membership time ran out, even if they were paying less before (grandfathered in before Jagex increased the price from $5.00 USD to $5.95 USD). This angered many players who were paying only $5.00 a month, since they thought they would be paying the lower price once their premier club ran out. In the Premier Club FAQ thread on the forums Jagex has clarified that the price you pay will not change, you will be able to continue with the same subscription price after the 3, 6 or 12 months.
- For the players who bought Gold premier club, the vanity items were not added if they already had some or all of the items. Some players viewed this as a waste of money, and voiced concern that the recently-released Bloodpouncer pet should have been added as well. This appears to be rectified as of 22 October 2013.
- Jagex had said that the vanity items would disappear forever, making them rare items and only obtainable from Gold membership. However a couple of months later Jagex released some of the vanity items on the Solomon General store; players who used a keepsake key on a Flaming Skull were not refunded which led to some negative feedback threads about the Gold premier club on the RuneScape Forums.

- Fixed an issue that prevented players who had previous Premier Club and the new Premier Club in certain combinations from being able to open Premier reward tokens.

- Players with the 6 month summer special membership package can now open the player-owned farm bonus chest at the Grand Exchange (after completing the farm tutorial).

- An issue preventing Premier Club Bronze and Silver members from upgrading their membership has been fixed.

- Gold Premier Club members now have access to both the two-handed Hellion Blade and the off-hand Hellion Blade override.

- Expired 2017 premier club members can once again use their Desert Pantheon aura up until the end of the year.
