The Polar Kebbit is a species of kebbit found in the Rellekka Hunter area, the Taverley Hunting Area and the Polar kebbit portal. It is one of the earliest animals players can hunt with the Hunter skill, requiring only level 1 Hunter.
Catching a Polar Kebbit involves tracking it from its hole, to its final destination. The kebbits are always in snowdrifts when you catch them, by using a noose wand and "attacking" the snow drift. Success yields 15 Hunter experience, plus bones, raw beast meat, and polar kebbit fur. Note: box traps are used instead in the private hunting area. Polar Kebbit fur may be sold on the Grand Exchange, or turned into Polar camouflage gear by the Fancy Dress Shop salesman in Varrock (4 furs and 40 coins for the set) as well as used as a tertiary ingredient in the level 71 Arctic bear Summoning pouch.
Habitats[edit | edit source]
Tracking[edit | edit source]
To get there you can use the Rellekka Lodestone and travel north, alternatively, if you have completed the Eagles' Peak quest, the Eagle transport system is a fast way in and out. An even more convenient option uses fairy ring code DKS, since the return code D-K-R will take players right back to the Grand Exchange. This option requires the unlocking of the fairy ring network part-way through A Fairy Tale II - Cure a Queen. Player should note that you do not have to do the whole quest to use the rings, you only have to do it up to the part where you are granted permission to use them, which, conveniently, requires no skill levels or items besides a Dramen or Lunar staff. Though, the most efficient location remains to be Taverley.
Box Traps[edit | edit source]
Polar Kebbits caught using Box traps can also be found in the private hunting area through the Polar kebbit portal in Mieliki Tapio's house upstairs in the Tree Gnome Stronghold, south of the Gnome Agility Course. Here at Level 70 Hunting or above, they can be caught with Box traps instead of by tracking. These kebbits earn the player 300 experience points each requiring 15 Competence Points per kebbit caught.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- It is possible to get an old boot from hunting these kebbits.
- At some point the message in the chatbox said "you manage to noose a common kebbit..."
