The pick is a quest item found in Peer the Seer's house while attempting his challenge during The Fremennik Trials. It serves no purpose in the quest.

When you use the pick on the chest in the room, you will get the message: "You might be able to break the chest open using this pick...if you stood here tapping at it for twenty years or so."

Trivia

• In an ironic fashion, the pick, along with the blue thread, magnet and ship toy serves no purpose during the quest and is therefore a red herring instead of the actual item found while searching the house.
