The Orcus altars are excavation hotspots at Kharid-et - Chapel excavation site that players can excavate with level 86 Archaeology. A pontifex signet ring is required to be worn or carried in the inventory or toolbelt to pass the barrier.

The hotspots initially appear as ancient gravel, requiring uncovering to become usable. Uncovering the hotspots yields a one-time reward of 268.5 Archaeology experience.

Between levels 86 and 89, one can average around 52,000 experience in an hour. This can be achieved by using an imcando mattock and wearing the archaeologist's outfit.
