Open Bar is an achievement that requires players to speak to the Drunken Dwarf in his house in the north-eastern side of Keldagrim with 28 different ales in their inventory. As more than 28 different ales exist, it is not required to use all of them to obtain the achievement.
At least partial completion of Recipe for Disaster is required for making Asgoldian ale. The Stuff can be helpful for drastically improving the chance of brewing mature ale.
The ales are kept after getting the achievement.
Ale strategy[edit | edit source]
There are 30 ales that can be used for Open Bar and since 28 are needed for the achievement, this means that the player can skip getting two of these ales. Ranger's Aid (m) can be bought from The Poison Arrow and Dwarven Stout (m) is an uncommon drop from pickpocketing Trahaearn Workers. There are 10 mature ales and two ales, Pigswill and Axeman's Folly, that cannot be purchased in a store or are readily available. Since both Pigswill and Axeman's Folly are not mature versions and thus easier to produce, the player may wish to make these ales first. Excluding the aforementioned ales, the player must purchase from the Grand Exchange or make at least 8 different mature ales for this achievement. There may be difficulty in finding these ales on the Grand Exchange, or it may take several days to buy them, hence, the need to make some of these. Although kegs cannot be used for Open Bar, beer glasses of the corresponding ale can be obtained from a keg. Of course, brewing ale is in and of itself time-consuming, and so completing this achievement will require patience one way or another.
