Off-hand dragon claw detail.png

An off-hand dragon claw is the off-hand version of the dragon claw weapon. It is dropped by Tormented demons, which require completion of While Guthix Sleeps to kill. It requires 60 Attack to wield, and is identical to the off-hand dragon scimitar (which requires Monkey Madness to wield), albeit much heavier.

With a Dungeoneering level of 80, players can attach five chaotic spikes to the claw, creating an off-hand chaotic claw, which requires level 80 Attack and degrades in the same manner as normal chaotic weapons. This process is irreversible, and the upgraded claw is untradeable.

Special attack[edit | edit source]

The off-hand dragon claw has a special attack, Slice & Dice. The special attack hits the target up to four times and uses 50% adrenaline, dealing between 174%-380% ability damage in total. The first hit deals between 68-180% damage, with the second hit dealing between 54-80% of the first hit, with the final two hits dealing 26-40% each. The value of the first hit determines what values the follow-up hits will deal. The closer the first hit is to the maximum will lower the percentage used to calculate the second, third, and fourth hits, or vice versa.

Dragon claws have a unique property of re-rolling hits. Should the value of the first hit be below a certain percentage of ability damage, the second hit will ignore it's value and roll for 100% damage, with the final hits rounding based off the second hit value. Should the first hit miss, the second hit will roll for 68-180% damage instead, and if any two of the four hits should miss, two more additional hits will be rolled at the end of the special attacks sequence to compensate.

The special attack requires both the main hand and off-hand variants equipped.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Before the Evolution of Combat, this weapon used to have a special attack. The special attack was re-introduced on 24 January 2014, and now requires both the main hand and off-hand claws to be equipped in order to use it. As a result, dragon claws shot up in price briefly, but crashed back down by the end of the year.
