Necromancer
A Necromancer is someone who studies necromancy; the art of magically resurrecting the dead. They are usually followers of Zamorak, Zaros, or Xau-Tak, due to the practice of necromancy being considered unnatural by most human societies.
Senliten, the Pharaoh Queen describes necromancy as a corrupted version of the mummification process which leaves the victim caught in a state between living and death. According to Irwin Feaselbaum, some powerful necromancers can raise themselves from the dead. Malignius Mortifer claims that because necromancy is not well understood, misfires can occur resulting in the summoning of fungi or cabbages.
Owen's account of necrotaurs sounds similar to edimmus. Revived by fern's appearing as "sickly translucent, The corruption had warped their forearms into elongated blades of razored bones, with eerie glowing veins of corruption through their corded muscles, and rippling sinews, pumping with unnatural vigour, a thin layer of mucus covered their skinless bodies, stinking putrid odour. Black toxic vapours reeked from their mouths, withering the scant vegetation in a terrible blight. A god's attacks, and decapitation, seemed futile as the necrotaurs regenerate nigh-instantaneously. Each necrotaur was a prison, body acting as a cage for host of souls, whenever the necrotaur slew a living person, the necrotaur captured their soul, binding it to their necrotic flesh to empower and sustain them."
