Red dragon leather is used to train Crafting, and it is always in high demand. Because red dragonhide must be tanned into leather before it can be crafted, tanning the hides in bulk can be highly profitable.

Because the price difference between hides and leather can be fairly small, it is important to buy the hides for a low price and sell the leather for a high price; you can lose out on up to 50% of the profit if you are not patient. Test the profit by buying one red dragonhide and one red dragon leather. If the difference between the two is less than 200, it may be worth it to switch to green, blue, black, or royal dragonhide. Red dragonhides have a lower trade volume than the other types of dragonhide, so it may be difficult to buy and sell them in bulk.

It should be noted that red dragonhide has a buylimit of 10,000 every 4 hours. It should take you around 10 minutes to tan them. It's recommended to have at least 9,358,432+ recommended coins though this is the least amount of coins you need for doing this method for 5 minutes. It is possible to work around the limit by letting the order fill while doing other activities, directly trading with other players, or by using alternate accounts.

To tan dragon leather with maximum efficiency, deploy a portable crafter near a bank or bank chest (for example, near the bank chest in Castle Wars), make a preset with 28 red dragonhide, and load it. Then right-click the crafter and choose Tan Leather. Additionally, you can use portable crafters on the one already deployed to increase its duration by five minutes per crafter. It is also possible to avoid the cost of the portable crafters by using those placed by other players. The Minigames and D&Ds forum is a good place to check.

To get the fastest tanning speeds, you will need to make sure you're on a world with the lowest ping.

1. Zoom in and adjust your camera so the portable crafter and the bank would be next to each other.
2. Now load your bank preset by pressing a keybind, then instead of closing the bank interface, click on the portable.
3. Press space, and at the same time, click on the banker.

This way you don't need to wait until the bank or tanning interface opens up and can tan with little to no delay. You should be expecting to tan 60,000 red dragonhides an hour however at it's peak, it is possible to tan over 6,600 hides per portable crafter, or nearly 80,000 per hour.
