The profit rate assumes 240 kills per hour. Your actual profits may be higher or lower depending on your speed and luck.
Killing steel dragons may be profitable due to their common drop rates of Soul runes, and various rune salvage. Steel dragons are level 100 monsters that are Metallic dragons, and are capable of using long-ranged dragonfire. Steel dragons are weak to Water spells, but high-end melee/range weapons will also work.
Steel dragons can be found in Brimhaven Dungeon (and its resource variant), Ghorrock and Kuradal's Dungeon (slayer task needed). Steel dragons can be easily accessed; simply use the nearest lodestone to the location, and one should get there within a few minutes.
Steel dragons are spread quite far, so long-ranged attacks will be helpful when killing them. Any adamant or rune salvage collected should be immediately alched, while other nice rares should be kept in your inventory. Steel dragons are one of the few monsters capable of dropping the draconic visage and a select few who can drop the Clue scroll (elite).
If one can kill a steel dragon within 15 seconds, this will equate to four within one minute, and within an hour, one should be able to kill approximately 240 dragons. Using a Pack yak will improve profit rates by approximately 200,000 coins.
