The profit rate assumes 80 trips per hour. Your actual profit may be higher or lower depending on your speed.
Using the attuned crystal teleport seed to bank at the Ithell bank chest, then teleporting to Lunar Island with Moonclan Teleport is the optimal way to craft astral runes. Players can do approximately 100 runs per hour via this method by using surge and bladed dive during runs. Without teleporting, the number of runs per hour drops significantly, to approximately 60.
With the infinity ethereal outfit, an abyssal titan summoned, small through massive pouches and a powerburst of sorcery, players can hold up to 102 essence per trip. Players should put the runes needed for Moonclan Teleport in a large rune pouch to save inventory space.
Create a preset with all the required items for your trips. The fastest way to fill pouches is by loading a preset then using the action bar. After filling your pouches and ethereal set, run outside the Lunar Isle wall, south then east past the suqahs. Once at the astral altar, craft your runes and then teleport to Ithell using your teleport seed. Fill your pouches again, then cast Moonclan Teleport and begin anew.
If you do not have an attuned crystal teleport seed, you could cast Moonclan Teleport and use the Lunar Isle bank; however this is slightly slower. The lodestone teleport is also an option, however this is not recommended due to the large delay when casting it.
It is recommended to have the Pouch Protector relic active, as it prevents pouches from degrading. Alternatively, players can cast the Repair Rune Pouch spell unlocked from Livid Farm—or NPC Contact spell to contact the dark mage—to repair pouches as they degrade if the relic is not unlocked or if all three monolith slots are filled. This will waste a bit of time and costs a few extra runes, however.
If you have a second preset with the runes to cast the NPC contact spell and use a hotkey to activate the spell, you can cut down on the amount of time spent repairing pouches if the relic or pouch protect spells are not options for you. A free method of repairing pouches would be to traverse into the abyss and speak with the dark mage in person. As the abyss is in the wilderness, players should proceed on this route with caution.
You can use a bank preset with a combined Catalyst fragment plus Infinity ethereal outfit to prevent medium, large and giant pouches from degrading. This may not be recommended after unlocking the Pouch Protector relic since it requires opening the bank interface a second time.
Completing Hero's Welcome will allow players to craft 5% more runes.
It is strongly recommended to check the live prices on the Grand Exchange before making large investments in any method.
