Collecting mort myre fungi is very profitable as it is the secondary ingredient for making super energy potions. While wearing Morytania legs, players will receive double the amount of fungi when collecting. However, make sure there are at least two inventory spaces when collecting, otherwise players will only receive one fungus. Casting bloom affects rotting objects in the 8 squares around the player and consumes between 10 and 60 prayer points (though if the player only has 1 prayer point left, bloom can still be cast). Players should use a location surrounded by 3 rotting logs to increase the chances of obtaining mort myre fungus. An Ivandis flail or blessed silver sickle can be placed on the action bar to cast bloom with hotkeys. Using the action bar, you can increase your profit up to 2,500~ fungus, for an approximation of 2,723,530, by being tick-efficient. Players should use the three logs south of the Deposit Box as those are the most efficient. Gathering the fungus by prioritizing the logs in the order of South-west, west, then East, you can cast bloom as soon as the mushrooms on the east log disappears, even though your character doesn't appear to be in the center yet. If the fungus on the logs disappears, it indicates that your character has reached that point even if it isn't shown. Using this, you will increase your fungus output by a decent amount. Additionally, you don't need to wait for the bloom effect to end, you can begin harvesting as soon as the stars start to fall and dim.

While harvesting Mort myre fungus, you may rarely receive a Gloomshroom zygomite (unchecked) which sells for 198,782.

Inventory setup should include 3 Prayer renewal (4) or 2 Prayer renewal flask (6), as 10 doses will be consumed in 1 hour. Each renewal dose will recover prayer points over 6 minutes, though as long as the potion effect is active bloom can be cast indefinitely. Super prayer renewal potion (6) can sometimes be cheaper per dose, having the same duration. As of right now, each Super prayer renewal potion dose is 181 cheaper than a Prayer renewal dose and 608.33 cheaper than a Prayer renewal flask dose.

Recommended location for players using the bank deposit chest

If you have completed Deadliest Catch, you will have unlocked a deposit chest along the eastern banks of the River Salve. A short distance south of this, shown in the picture on the right, are 3 rotting logs within a 3x3 area. Simply cast bloom, collect, and deposit until you run out of prayer renewal doses. Using the bank deposit chest, this method increases your Mort myre fungi output considerably as it removes the need to bank every inventory; you now only have to bank once after the hour.

You can also increase the amount of fungi through the use of Farm totems on the Player-owned Farm. The Zygomite perk gives a 7% chance to give another mushroom when you gather, at tier one, and a 10% chance at tier two. This stacks with the Morytania legs buff, for a possible three fungi per harvest. Raising Zygomites requires 81 Farming, and the farm totems will only work if Elder Zygomites are in the Medium Pens.

For people that haven't completed Deadliest Catch: first, use the fairy ring network to teleport to bkr. Run west until you see three rotting logs, as shown in the image above. Drink a dose of prayer renewal, stand in the middle of the 3 rotting logs and cast bloom. Mort myre fungi will not spawn every time. Always pick the northern log last because when picked, you will return to the middle, removing the need to click back. After a full inventory, teleport to the TzHaar Fight Cave with the TokKul-Zo to bank and repeat using the fairy ring just north. Alternatively, if you haven't got a TokKul-Zo, use the fairy ring to bank in Zanaris, although this is slightly slower.

Alternatively, players with 68 divination or greater can use sign of the porter IV to bank the fungus. This method will reduce the need for bank trips and increase the yield. Each sign of the porter will transport 20 fungi at a cost of 851.6 per charge. Profit per hour will be greater than that of banking at the TzHaar Fight Cave but be less than that of using the deposit chest due to the cost of porters.

Alternatively, players who complete the easy Ardougne achievements (Requires: Biohazard, Gertrude's Cat, Monk's Friend, Plague City, Tower of Life; 15  Fishing, 16  Thieving, 10  Construction), can use the Kandarin monastery Teleport after collecting fungi (but before banking with the TokKul-Zo ) to recharge their prayer point for free. The Kandarin monastery Teleport is a one click teleport spell that isn't interrupted by attacking ghasts unlike the TokKul-Zo. Return with a fairy ring as mentioned above.
