Barrows: Rise of the Six is the "hard mode" version of the original Barrows. To access their dungeon, a Barrows totem must be acquired; players can either buy from the Grand Exchange, or loot the original Barrows chest. The totems are fairly cheap, costing 2561 coins each; however, each totem lasts for one kill, and is not refunded upon death. Only one player needs to have totems on hand to create an instance.
To defeat the brothers, all six must be simultaneously defeated at once. Each brother has 50,000 life points. Then, upon looting the chest, the player must escape to stabilize the unstable energy; dying or lobbying will cause this energy to disappear. The majority of the profits will come from the energies themselves, although other notable drops include onyx bolts (e), inert adrenaline crystals and huge plated rune salvages.
With experienced teams, it's possible to loot in excess of 20 chests an hour, as it's possible to defeat the brothers in 30 seconds or lower on optimal rotations by maximizing DPS with AoE abilities. Ranged is preferred for this due to the simplicity of its AoE attacks, along with the fact that it counters Ahrim's Levitate as it makes him immune to melee attacks. The most time-consuming part is navigating the tunnels, taking around 15-35 seconds depending on how many bridges there were in the instance. When you need to rebank, inform your team; if possible, try to arrange specific banking times, so everyone returns with full supplies.
Though undead, they are unaffected by the Salve amulet; however, both the Undead Slayer perk and ability allows players to deal 22% additional damage for 15 seconds, or 7% when the ability is on cooldown.
The formation of the brothers change each day; refer to the table on the right for the formations.
