The Menaphos journal is a book given by Assistant Librarian Subotai in Menaphos, near Grand Vizier Ehsan's residence, after The Jack of Spades has been completed. After obtaining the journal, it allows one to collect the Jewels of the Elid, find the Cats of Menaphos, and the Insects of the Desert. Possessing the journal is required to find and register them. However, it is not required to have the journal in the inventory or pocket slot to register them.

Completing the collections from the journal is required for the Sandy [Name] title.

Collections

The journal can be checked to investigate the status of the Insects of the Desert, Jewels of the Elid, and Cats of Menaphos collections.

Insects of the Desert

Main article: Insects of the Desert

Insects of the Desert is a collection of insects that can be collected by doing some activities within Menaphos, such as woodcutting Acadia trees, mining Sandstone, hunting Plover birds and training Thieving. Finding and registering all 16 insects completes the All Abuzz achievement.

Jewels of the Elid

Main article: Jewels of the Elid

Jewels of the Elid is a collection of gems that can be collected inside Menaphos and Sophanem. Some gems can be collected by training, much like the Insects, and others are locked behind time-based doors. Finding and registering all 16 jewels completes the Rock and Roll achievement.

Cats of Menaphos

Main article: Cats of Menaphos

Cats of Menaphos is a collection of cats that can be pet in Menaphos. Some cats are locked behind quests and some others are locked behind time-based doors, just like the Jewels of Elid. Finding and registering all 16 cats completes the Feline Good achievement.

Teleports

When in backpack, the journal has a right-click teleport option that can be used to teleport to:

• Imperial district (with Imperial district teleport tablet)
• Merchant district (with Merchant district teleport tablet)
• Port district (with Port district teleport tablet)
• Worker district (with Worker district teleport tablet)
• Sophanem Slayer Dungeon (with Sophanem Slayer Dungeon teleport tablet)
• Menaphos shifting tombs (with Menaphos shifting tombs teleport tablet)

When equipped, the teleport option is replaced with the individual teleports.

It can also remotely access any district teletabs stored in the bank. Reaching tier 4 reputation in a district unlocks the ability to make that district's teletab in a player-owned house. Additionally the journal can store up to 1,000 of each of the teleport tablets to conserve bank space. Stored teleports can be withdrawn with the "charges" right-click option when in backpack.

  • Descriptive text has been added to better explain the teleport functions.

• ninja 1 April 2019 (Update):
  • Menaphos teleport tablets can now be stored and used in your Menaphos journal, up to 1000 charges per location.

• hotfix 15 June 2017 (Update):
  • Players will now consistently be given their final collection rewards. Any players missing these can claim them from Assistant Librarian Subotai.

• hotfix 12 June 2017 (Update):
  • Teleporting to the Imperial district via the Menaphos journal no longer causes a crash.
