The magical jingle bells are an item used during the Present Hunt tasks for The Knight Before Christmas Yak Track. It is obtained from Robin in Burthorpe when asking how the Present Hunt tasks work.
They function similarly to the penguin spy device in that, when they are rung, they will automatically highlight any presents within a 20 tile radius of the player for a minute, and additionally give clues on where the presents are located.
Having rung the bells during a Present Hunt task, they periodically yield the following messages in the chat box for a minute:
- 11–20 paces away from a present: The Magical jingle bells ring softly. There is a [Colour] present [number] paces [direction] of you.
- 6–10 paces away from a present: The Magical jingle bells ring moderately. There is a [Colour] present [number] paces [direction] of you.
- 2–5 paces away from a present: The Magical jingle bells ring loudly. There is a [Colour] present [number] paces [direction] of you.
- 1 pace away from a present: The Magical jingle bells ring loudly. There is a [Colour] present 1 pace [direction] of you.
- On top of a present: The Magical jingle bells ring furiously. There is a [Colour] present right beneath you!
When attempting to ring or obtain a clue from the bells outside a Present Hunt task, the following message is given: The Magical jingle bells can only be rung during Present Hunt tasks.
